sockdolager; noun

1. something unusually large, heavy, etc. 2. a decisive reply, argument, etc. 3. a heavy, finishing blow: His right jab is a real sockdolager.

Etymology: 1830, "a decisive blow," fanciful formation from sock (v.) "hit hard;" also said to be a variant of doxology, on a notion of "finality." The meaning "something exceptional" is attested from 1838. Sockdologising was nearly the last word President Abraham Lincoln heard. During the performance of Tom Taylor's "Our American Cousin," assassin John Wilkes Booth (who knew the play well) waited for the line "Well, I guess I know enough to turn you inside out, you sockdologising old man-trap," and as the audience laughed, Booth fired the fatal shot.

I have to agree with Truthy - my husband thought the uniforms looked like old fashioned jail birds - I thought bees..... and had joked they had to be so embarrassed to look like that their game would be off. So I have to hand it to them to be able to play and win while dressed like something off of a Benny Hill set.

I actually wish they had a video of management handing out those unis to the guys and their reactions. You have to imagine that more than a few said "h@LL NO"...lol

After that guy does his math ......he gives us my favorite part of the article to tell you how far gone Ohio already is for Obozo

So basically in the other 86 counties Romney has to get about 326 more votes in EACH than he did last time.

Trust me it is GOING TO happen EASILY.

I read another article here over the weekend that showed that Obozo's best case scenerio based on current voter trends in 2012 and past election history from 2008. It was purely math calculations.

It showed Obozo has already lost the state by 14,000 votes come Election day

Remember this is Obozo's best case scenerio and there are approximately 700,000 absentee votes that were cast before early voting began and were added to the state by county totals in Ohio.....this best case scenerio for Obozo ASSUMES that ever absentee ballot cast for Obozo is actually a vote for Obozo and that just isn't going to be the case.

AND it doesn't take into account that lots of republicans just didn't vote last time either and because of the enthusiasm for the Republicans in this cycle that won't be repeating itself for our side this time!

The only thing I'm waiting for now, after I vote, is for FOX to Call the state early and first so they foil the MSM's plan to delay the call to keep the dimrats, in the west, in line voting.

When the Steelers game first started my husband called me in to see the uniforms - they were just showing the jerseys and he mentioned the pants were a funny tan color - I joked, “It could be worse, they could have striped socks”..... oh.

Seriously? You’re upset she hasn’t voted ? My family is voting on Election Day. Republicans aren’t big fans of early voting and unless you are a poll worker or will be out of town that day I see no reason to vote early. I don’t know anyone of my friends who is rushing to vote bc of the storm, they will offer paper ballots if the electronic is unavailable. I think you’re being silly for ragging on her for this. It has never occurred to me to vote early and there aren’t many more politically aware than our family.
