Typically that is a hardware problem. You have a device that is either sending so many interrupts or timing out on an operation that it’s polling so frequently it impacts the CPU. Stuck key transmitting “make” but no “break” codes can be the problem. Stuck mouse button(s) also. Lots of possibilities. If reboot fixed it, might just be an intermittent issue.
It seems like something weird is happening to me too, just with this site, almost as if it gets redirected when I try to go here. Like it is being blocked My typical “favorites” links dont always work to get here. If I go to a search page link I can get the site , sometimes. Most of the time I get the http 404 page
I am on AOHELL.com as my internet browser
and I get a lot of “error” messages and “404 error”
when I try to log in or make a comment on my Freeper account.
I attribute it to the Huffington/puffinton post
which is alligned with my browser .
After all , it is Halloween

Whew ... thanks for the explanation. I used to be the whiz with Computers (back in the DOS days) now 10 year olds have to show me how my phone works and what it can do...
(I need (read want) a new Mouse and Keyboard anyway) everything else is fairly new. I’m pretty fearless with hardware and a screw driver and I’m almost fluent in “Indian Customer Support” but Malware and Virus stuff scares the crap out of me... I have been down for weeks before from that crap ...
Latest problem of consequence was from (I think) an ADOBE update that has rendered my Scanner inop ... everything else works just fine ... Brother MFC 9460 (when I scan it says Computer not found, yet everything else works fine, Printer, FAX and Copy) I changed the USB Cable, changed it’s location on the Tower, reloaded Printer Software and Updated Printer Software ... no Joy
I think it was an Adobe update ... a friend thinks it was a JAVA update ... just haven’t had the 5-6 hours available lately to reconnect with my old friends in India Customer Support ... but I will figure it out eventually (it is a 3 month old Printer) my ol HP lasted 5 years
Thanks again
TT
