Sorry, what you are seeing is the political reaction of Christie instead of being a Governor. He is NOT the one to go one on one with the individual cases (sure does look good for politicians though), he needs to have an expansive outlook for the State and act as such - not on an individual basis.
For those that think this is appropriate, let’s send him around to everyone who is grieving and see how much time he has left to tend to the State’s problems!
It looks good and feels good but does nothing for the State in general. It’s political!
I guess Pres Bush with the bullhorn at ground zero was grandstanding. Most of FR may not like Christies politics but he needs no lessons in governance from any here or from Rush. Like Rush most here seem to have forgotten that the conservative roots, people like Goldwater, Buckley made empowering local and state govt an important part of their agenda to return power to the people. Christie governs NJ well and he sees that this catatstrophe is not just limited to the homeowners and business people but to the future well being of the state’s economy. Summer tourism to the best beaches south of Long Island is a driver of NJ’s economy and taking any help to restore it is his job 1.
