I have noticed for about the last year + that when I go to access FR from my browser links that it takes FOREVER for FR to load. I thought maybe browser issue or virus software filtering the site or something—or FR server issues.
I don’t know, but it has defiantly affected how often I visit FR.
Slow, and I am on crazy fast cable internet in Texas.
Won’t even load some pages.
Frankly, I don’t see why we can’t just do ads like every other site and have supplemental donations to cover any other costs. The site’s design has not changed since at least when I joined in 2000. We still have to code HTML in to post anything extra.
I would think ads might help with upgrades.
been having problems all day, turned my computer back to 2 weeks ago and its running faster with less of the WE cannot load this page....
Since I moved to Verizon FIOS I never have the problem of the Time Warner server telling me that FreeRepublic was an unknown site.
Try using the actual Web numeric address and see if that speeds it up.
Hmmm....how do we figure that out...I use to have it but I never have THAT OLD problem any more.
