Unfortunately winning elections, IMO, has become more style over substance. The cool, fun candidate is usually the winner. Sadly, Mitt Romney did not have the charisma necessary to win this race. He came across as Thurston Howell III to many, many people. If he would have been a little younger, a little cooler, and maybe just a tad darker I really believe he would have won big. His ideas did not undo him. Just my opinion of course.
So how do we make our candidate fit that role? i said earlier on this post, we will never have another Reagan, but that doesn't mean that we won't have another great conservative leader. We just have to realize that the world now is different than it was in 1980. We have to move on and figure out how to sell our plan, which is much superior to any democrat plan, to people who learned in 30 second clips on Sesame street.
We have to reach that audience. We have to reach the sluts and the nuts and convince them that we do have a better plan.
And that's going to really hard, but we have to do it if we want this great nation of ours to survive.
