Be sure and "like" and support TX AG Greg Abbott. Here is his facebook post earlier today.

Texas remains one of the reddest states in the country and is the last bastion of conservatism. Now more than ever Texas must lead the nation!

I’ll continue to fight every day against an overreaching federal government to protect the liberties that Texans hold so dearly.

“LIKE” this to let me know you’re standing with me.

geez - my mistake, he became a 1990 republican. As to Reagan, as someone that walked the streets and suburbs of Sacremento trying to get him elected govenor - I bet i have some understanding of his past. But your leave out any mention of the FACTS about the FAILURES of Perry to slow spending. He and Dewhurst played fast and loose - take a look at HIS list of tech failures using state money. He is Obama with a texas drawl. All hat no cattle ( despite his rancher address)

Reagan last voted for a democrat president in 1948, in 1952, 1956, and 1960, Reagan campaigned for the Republicans while being fully conservative, and using the slogan of “A Democrat for (X)” he formally registered rep in 1962 and then made history, conservative history that left Perry unimpressed and turned him into a democrat.

The problem with this is that Perry chose in 1984, in the middle of the Reagan Revolution, when Reagan was winning Texas with 64% of the vote, to become a Democrat politician and run for office.

If that isn’t enough, in Reagan’s last year, when Reagan’s Texan veep was running for the Presidency against Al Gore, Perry clamored for the position of Al Gore’s campaign leader, and fought to get a man with a 9 ACU rating into Reagan’s seat as President.

I would support getting a coalition behind Gov. Perry for 2016 to take back the White House!

Sure. Why not. Let's nominate the guy who lost to the guy who lost to the guy who first lost to Obama.

Gads...

Seriously, it would be so liberating. I mean, if the U.S. has left us and there’s no place for conservatism anymore, why the heck not? But why stop with Texas, what about Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, And some of the southern states like Tennessee which is a solid conservative state, just so we have plenty of room. :)

I was pleased to see that Reps King and Latham came through OK last night. Until health issues made her cut back, mom was a county GOP stalwart, and she had met all the candidates out that way over the years. I can remember back to the days of Wiley Mayne and Berkely Bedell, and mom has 20-odd years on me.

Rick Perry “might be” a good governor for Texas, and he might even be a good president of Texas Republic

but, his fall in the primary process was his own doing

I am not convinced he can do better given the chance

You guys can move in with Navy Dad and I until you get on your feet. Low rent and free foster parents. That is assuming you are under the age of 50. LOL

ah ah ah - thanks for your well researched comments. I had forgotten who ran the Al Gore in TX campaign, but hiding his past or his present was so effective for Rick - until he got on stage, then his skills got a real close look and most people declared...”Who is this guy?”

I don’t know where I stand on Perry, but I do have questions about him and his past and why he made his feint for the nomination, seeming to do it just to knock out Palin as her bus tour was completing, in what looked like a coming announcement to run.
