What the general did is completely wrong. However, I don’t think it should get all the media attention it is receiving. All this does is publically humiliate the general’s wife and the biographer’s husband.
The ONLY issue I think worth discussing, is if Petraeus is now silenced from giving testimony on what went wrong in Libya. THAT is what is important. His stupid actions shouldn’t give the Obama administration an excuse to keep him silent.
You play, you pay. And so does your whole family, unto several generations.
I don't agree with "all it does." Obviously, this politically manipulated scandal provides a major distraction, diversion and smoke screen for the Benghazi debacle. In that four of our finest died, I can live with the enabling spouses' feeeeeelings being hurt.
If/when they are old enough, the Petraeus and Broadwell children can leave home and/or change their last names. The parents of the dead Seals will never see their children at the holiday table again.
re your “His stupid actions shouldnt give the Obama administration an excuse to keep him silent.”
Or maybe his actions have allowed him to get out from under the administration, so as to speak more freely.
It may be that Benghazi truly upset him, but while in the chain-of-command, he had to follow orders.
Circles within circles, wheels within wheels.
