Texas Secession Petition Garners Enough Signatures to be Reviewed by White House

The idea of Texas seceding from the Union is a long time joke, but a secession petition on WhiteHouse.gov has received enough signatures to be seriously reviewed by the White House.

This isn't quite the equivalent of the Declaration of Independence, but in the digital age, you could say it's similar.

Why not? The USA can still have 50 states if they allow Puerto Rico to come in ( They just voted for Statehood ).

The Flag doesn’t have to be changed either.

And Texas? Well isn’t it the Lone Star State? Might as well be the Lone Star Republic.

But what’s the National Anthem of Texas going to be ?....

Really?

Seriously reviewed?

The WH staffers may actually pee their pants laughing.

Who cares what Texas national anthem would be.

United states had no official anthem until 1931, a poem that was written in
1814.

If it takes them 147 years that’ll be quicker than the US national anthem.

“Texas, Our Texas”!

“Texas, Our Texas! all hail the mighty State!
Texas, Our Texas! so wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, withstanding ev’ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.
(chorus)

Texas, O Texas! your freeborn single star,
Sends out its radiance to nations near and far,
Emblem of Freedom! it set our hearts aglow,
With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo.
(chorus)

Texas, dear Texas! from tyrant grip now free,
Shines forth in splendor, your star of destiny!
Mother of heroes, we come your children true,
Proclaiming our allegiance, our faith, our love for you.
Chorus

God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.”

agreed,
just look at the election maps by county and we still have a republican country how ever the north east and the west coast minus parts of CA are lost.

They have different views on how elections should be , we want fair elections they want rigged and cheating, yes I know they will deny that but they also know they could nevr win anything without cheating today.

We want the laws to be enforced they sue states which enforce the laws

we wnat normal healthy marriage they do not they want anything which goes.

we want people to work and be responsible with their money they want people to depend on the elitist.

hell yea TX has a right as does other states lik e northern FL, GA, AL, OK, MS, SC, NC , southern VA, UT, ND, SD, ID, AK,

etc etc etc

let tem have their liberal utopia socialist dream but they better take all like minded folk

- Lord, it’s hard to be humble, when you’re perfect in every way! -

I can’t remember who sang that song, but it sure fits with Texas and Texans.

This is not an official action of the State of Texas. The WH has a place where any citizen- any at all- can put up a petition, and anyone who finds it there can sign it if he wishes to.

On another thread I said that I could start one too, demanding that the WH become vegan, and if enough sign the thing, Obama would read it. Any of you can do the same thing, it’s like a graffiti wall, with the same weight as a graffiti wall.

If this came from the Texas legislature, it would be news, as it is it’s a curiosity that some are presenting as the real deal.

I was always taught that Texas was the only state that could leave the union anytime they decidid to do so. They were an independent republic which willingly joined the union and they can probably leave just as easily.

Mac Davis sang that song. Very well.

Oh, Lord, it’s hard to be humble
When you’re perfect in every way!
I can’t stand to look in the mirror
Cause I get better looking each day.

To know me is to love me,
Oh, I must be a helluva man!
Oh, Lord, it’s hard to be humble,
But I’m doing the best that I can.
