Not to mention all the amnesia over at the CIA.

This isn’t a love triangle, it’s a love pentagon.

Apparently ESPN put up a graphic last night about Roethisberger’s passing with the new O coordinator:

Drink & Drunk

(They meant “dink & dunk.”)

Can’t listen to Foghat without beating on the desk...

Cloudy and 56 here, but warmer weather is due back in a couple of days.

I think we should enjoy the mirth
Of the sexy goings-on and such-
Generals and female worshippers
Aren’t really all that much-

Patton had at least one of them
Eisenhauer had a couple, too-
And as a General, Julius Caesar
Had more than just a few

What makes the Petreaus scandal
The most worth-exposing legal goal
Since the insanity of the Nixon era
Is another admistration out of control

Having been embarrassed by a cheating first husband, I can empathize with Holly Petraeus. But having said that, look at her-she looks like a typical screw-my-appearance liberal woman of any age-little or no makeup, 25+ extra pounds, blah and unflattering clothes-all that is missing are sandals and unshaven pits...

Any man who signs checks, supervises people, etc, whether he merits a general’s paygrade or not is going to be noticed by advantage-seeking females-and so is his wife’s appearance. You can’t be overweight and frumpy, no matter how comfortable it is-wrong as it is, your man is going to stray-the other woman may not be younger, but she will be better kept, will listen to all his bulls*** and will wear a lace-and-satin teddy instead of flannel to bed if he wants her to.

Conservative women seem to take way more pride in a nice appearance at any age, so I can’t feel totally sorry for the general’s wife-she looks like her Birkenstock-wearing friend, Fauxcahontas Warren-or the divorced old hippie chicks who live out here...

Hell, I may not have a man now, but I work with them and I won’t let myself go fat and frumpy just out of personal, female pride. My sincere apologies if I sound judgemental, but we women have developed over 10’s of thousands of years into superior stealth predators ..

Don’t tell xs or her hubby, but George Will agrees with me on election running.

“Elections are run by governments, so it is unwise to expect them to be run well, but really: Are hours-long waits at polling places inevitable?”

And I agree, also with Will on a number of other points, as well-I will never understand those who want smaller government that stays out of their personal lives, but want that same government to get involved in moral issues-not counting abortion-that’s clearly murder/infanticide-government has no business in the personal lives of people-that is for churches to deal with-God is far wiser than government.

The Dummies could not hide their mirth
When Obama embraced Jersey Girth.
Those optics did sway
Undecideds, they say-
Doesn’t matter now, for what it’s worth…

Now it is not only chilly and gray, but there is light mist/rain-I was in the woods, and part of a poem from childhood came to mind-

“I like the gray November day, and dead, bare boughs that coldly sway against my pane-I like the rain..

I liked that, too-if the FBI spends much more time at either of those womens’ homes, they’re going to be asked to pay rent. How much stuff can possible be on a couple of computers belonging to what are basically a couple of married women with kids who have eyes for powerful men?

I made up some dough for a couple of baguettes of sourdough french bread-it is rising right now...

Holly’s appearance doesn’t excuse him, but i agree with you that it might explain it. i saw a comment to some article yesterday saying Holly became a marshmallow over time and had no chance against that “hardbody.” well it’s a sad state of affairs if a man cannot control his penis and comply with his vows just because an attractive woman comes on to him, and his wife has visibly aged. Holly Petraeus is 20 years older than the whore who took up with her husband. Women really can’t compete with that kind of age spread. I agree that one should never let oneself go, but mostly out of personal pride rather than to keep a man. If he’s bent on cheating he will cheat regardless.

Simple pride in being female keeps most of us from going frumpy, and yes, I’ve been accused of believing that my gender is superior to men when it comes to impulse control...

My ex, in his mid-life crisis went off the rails over a bimbo in her early 20’s-no matter how well-kept I was, I was still 40-something, had kids and hard miles on me, etc so I know how that feels.

I’m an unforgiving sort with a latin’s love of revenge, so it cost my ex dearly, both legally and in many headgames-revenge is sweet, and I still smile, remembering his downfall. I hope Holly goes for the jugular-it is what that man deserves. But she is supposedly a lib, so I guess she’ll do a Hillary.

Nothing excuses him-he is likely one of those men who like power and when an attractive, younger woman gets close, the blood drains from their brain to the-um-nether regions. He is a cad, a rotter, and a selfish bastard, albeit a great general.

I had a psychology prof who had written a paper on men who exhibited what she called Svengali syndrome-they set themselves up-professionally or otherwise-to mentor, counsel, etc younger women, and make sex part of the deal-they get off on the adulation as much as they do the boffing-a total ego high-addictive, and it usually ends up being ruinous. Remember Nemesis? Textbook case on a small scale...
