Real shooter was a Dallas police officer in a rain cistern located where the railroad trestle and the knoll came together. LBJ’s company built the trestle in 1938 , it was a WPA project, he knew about it. The police officer confessed on his deathbed. The cistern connected to the stormwater system with a handy exit at a nearby Police station. The cistern location has the perfect bullet trajectory with no “magic” in-flight acrobatics.
