Grey and gloomy day, chilly wind driving intermittent drizzle. The tide is way up driven by the wind. The sea and marsh birds tend to hunker down on days like this and sheltered fresh water ponds are favorite places for them.
Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, White Ibis, Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons and Tri Color Herons were in clusters in this pond.
The Osprey was just chilling out.
I don’t always post, but your pictures are my BP meds these days.
Very beautiful, soothing, and I feel content after seeing them.
Thanks ever so much!
Thanks for sharing.
Takes me back to my childhood playing along the Bayou Deview and Cache River. (bottom country of Arkansas) We didn’t know the names of any of the birds, we just referred to them as “cranes”. They spent most of their day fishing for crawdads and little fish and frogs.
Most of it is now just miles of soybeans. rice, etc. The woods that I loved are all gone.
Thanks, Sniper
The asphalt is winning here too, I just try to collect and save some memories.
The egrets, the great blues and the osprey all left my lake on about September 25.
