“Interesting take. The Dems plan years ahead; the Repubs get taken by surprise every time.”

Unlike the Democrats, most Republicans in political office and at the RNC headquarters are not committed to core values or a guiding philosophy. They are pragmatists who support big business, crony capitalism, and globalism. They give lip service to political conservatives in order to secure votes but feel no affinity for the American people nor are they concerned with the future of the country other than securing their own positions at the government trough.

I’ve come to the conclusion the Republican leadership is not surprised by the actions of the Democrats. They have become willing accomplices. The Democrats require a foil to create the impression there really is a contest between two parties and provide theater to distract the American people from what they are really doing. The Republican establishment has willingly signed on to playing the “bad guy” role in this farce into order to share in the spoils. We will see this play out again in the budget negotiations where Boehner and McConnell will make noises about fiscal responsibility so the Democrats can beat them up for protecting the rich and wanting to make the poor starve. When we reach the point of crisis defined by the Democrats and the media, the Republicans will cave, the Dems will get credit for saving the poor, and everyone in Washington will go back to the party circuit until the next crisis or election.

If Boehner was truly serious he’d be pointing out the fact that Obama is running away to Asia next week instead of staying in town and engaging in serious negotiations over the fiscal cliff. Obama has no intention of engaging in real negotiations, he has already given his class warfare speeches and will now go into hiding, letting Pelosi and Reid continue the pontificating until we get to the edge of the cliff. Then Obama will magically reappear on the scene to insist on compromise by the Republicans in order to save the country. Boehner and McConnell will comply and Obama will have another victory. The drama will have been played out in the media for the entertainment of the masses who can then return to watching “Dancing with the Stars” and the Superbowl.

We conservatives continue to enable this farce by buying into the notion we must support the RINO’s to save the country. We are like the battered spouse who keeps getting her teeth kicked in and then returns home after a few weeks from the shelter for another round. Likely we’ll see this game played again in 2014 and 2016 because we the people seem unable and unwilling to form a viable alternative political movement.

Unfortunately for the Republican elites, this time around the Democrats are putting in place the infrastructure for a dictatorship. With the Patriot Act, Obamacare, Dodd Frank, and decades of environmental regulations they have corrupted the government bureaucracy (Justice, State, Homeland Security, EPA, Treasury, and HHS) and set in place the legal structure for the President to assume dictatorial powers in a “crisis”. Now they are purging the military and CIA to make the military compliant when the time for a coup occurs.

No doubt when Iran sets a dirty bomb or actual nuclear bomb off in a major city, or we have another major financial collapse, the legal ground work will be in place to justify a suspension of the Constitution and elections for the duration of a crisis. After 2-3 years of dictatorship the states will be compelled to petition for a Constitutional Convention at which members of the leftist elite chosen by the president, will write a modern document to replace that obsolete piece of paper written by 18th century slaveowners.

It happened in Russia, it happened in Germany, it happened in Cuba, it happened in Venezuela and it is coming to America. When it does, Mr. Boehner and Mr. McConnell, as well as the Bush family, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and the rest of the RINO establishment will learn the real facts of life as they disappear to the indoctrination camps or worse. Likely they will be surprised, but I won’t.

Exactly, many of them can live with any system as long as the money rolls in and they retain their little sphere of authority.

In spite of the lip service Romney gave I really doubt he would blink if the 2nd amendment vanished, along with other basic individual rights.
