All I can say is I type so fast I don’t really read it after. Tow..toe, or sow...sew. If they really don’t know the phrase...who knows? I keep doing the same thing.
If I want something sweet I share a dessert with DH while out to dinner or I buy some expensive chocolate and ration it out to myself. That junk food just does not appeal to me. I bake once or twice a month for the fire station, but not any more than that. I will bake for Thanksgiving and holidays as well. DH buys that junk and eats it, I shun it. I will not buy it for him, either.
(OK...full disclosure: I was stressed beyond reason...my heart kept racing (PACs really). I spent a day or two eating butterfingers around Halloween recently. It didn’t really help my stress but the sugar high gave me momentary relief. ;^) Butterfingers and I have since called off our affair. No bitterness, no regrets.)
Oh, I do love the taste of dark, barely-sweet chocolate once in a blue moon-when I have that lust, I get a mini-bar of Russell Stover sugar free dark chocolate, and enjoy it very, very slowly, like good wine...
Just about the only thing I bake is bread for my use and for barter with neighbors for fresh eggs, honey, etc.
I bake pumpkin bread for Thanksgiving. That’s about it. I like the Sam’s Club pumpkin pie too much to bother baking. I get a couple around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I said to my family that it wouldn’t surprise me if Bimbo decided to sell Penguinos and such here to fill the Hostess void.
You can get most of the Bimbo brands here at stores that cater to Latinos-I go to one that also has a Tex-Mex deli, Farmers’ market on Tuesdays, and so forth-one of those places that has a sign saying “barbacoa Sabado y Domingo”, and a brake-and-tire shop out back...
My daughter is fond of the Marinela snack cakes-the ones that are like Little Debbies-she stocks up every time we go there, and her weight shows it-about 25 extra pounds.
HEB also has a lot Bimbo products and Orowheat stuff, which I think is also owned by Bimbo.
I used to make pumpkin bread, but my husband and daughter did not like it, so I started making banana bread for a treat instead, which they both liked, but I do not...
They just recently started using the “Bimbo” brand on some bread products here.
If we had any Latino markets here I’d get some Japanese style cacahuates.
Speaking of the devil-I just saw on an internet news trailer that said something about Bimbo buiying the Twinkie brand...
Well, I'm up in North Carolina right now, but apparently my father-in-law is flying over Texas dropping pumpkins on innocent dirt.
Got this from a recent email from him ....
Saturday I went to the Fault Line Flyers airfield near Briggs Texas. Bill S. had invited me. This was their annual Pumpkin Drop event. Bill flew the two seat glider and I sat in back and dropped a pumpkin from a thousand feet. The first drop was fair but not great. I thought we would do better on the second drop but we actually did worse. A pumpkin kicks up a lot of dust on the dry ground from a thousand foot drop. Bill did great on the spot landing after the drop, especially after the second drop. Lots of fun.
pumpin bombing?
cool
I’m trying to figure out how he got the pumpkin out of the glider ... You can’t roll down the window and throw it out. 8<)
What, a “bomb bay” and rocket racks aren’t standard option on a glider?
lol!!
I want pics or video...
this has Youtube craze written all over it
