Here’s a little hint for you, for the next time you watch a game: In football coaching terminology, gaining 5 or more yards per rush is called a “Win.”

<><><><

Final score

Ravens 13
Pittsburgh 10

5 yards a carry is really good and will win you more games than you lose. Just not last night. So, in this instance, 5 yards a carry was a “Loss”.

Oh, and BTW, discounting special teams play (where you were major league outplayed), Ray Rice had more all purpose yards than any single player on the field last night. You can look it up.

I feel pretty confident that the Ravens can also win six championships if you give them EIGHTY years like it took the Steelers to win theirs.

As far as I'm concerned, unless any of us are wearing green and gold and live in Wisconsin, we all need to sit down and shut up.

It’s also Ray My-Career-is-over Lewis.

Pretty much. I think he's close to finishing up his playing time with this latest tricep injury and his age, after an incredible career. On to coaching and motivational speaking. Ray Lewis will soon join Hines I-like-to-prance-around-in-little-tutus-on-dancing-with-the-stars Ward in retirement :).

They look like the Boston Bruins circa 1920’s.

The only things wrong were the lack of leather helmets and the presence of facemasks. Otherwise, in black and white they could have been playing in the mid 1930’s.

And you sound like an ignorant twit.

I watch football to watch football.

I do not watch football to watch some ignorant, misguided, feel-good, pathetic mewling over a medical problem visited upon half the population that on any given Sunday does not care one whit about football; purely to satisfy the gods of whimsical, political expediency.

If I sound juvenile, it is because the entire process is juvenile, puerile and worthless where hundreds of men making millions of dollars wear pink accessories for a game to promote awareness of a medical affliction visited upon 50% of the population. Where if the roles were reversed, said sufferers of the affliction would not shed one tear for anyone suffering a debilitating injury whilst wearing said pink regalia.

How many women in the Susan Komen walks, events, etc. say anything about the NFL promoting breast cancer awareness?

Not one fricking word.

Actually, I was talking about how many Superbowls the Steelers have one since the last time you won a Superbowl. That would be in the last ELEVEN YEARS. Please do try to keep up.

Yes, I agree, with the quality of team you have, it might well take you sixty years to win another Superbowl. You certainly aren't going anywhere with the defense you have.

HOW MANY RUSHING TDs DID YOUR RUGGED STEELERS HAVE??

One more than your fabulous Raven's had.

but we have already beaten New England

Dream on.

New England is a much better team now than they were at the beginning of the season, and your team is worse. MUCH, MUCH WORSE.

and they absolutely crushed Indy yesterday.

Your defense doesn't even belong in the same stadium as New England's at this point in the season, and as for your offense: two field goals. If you think "The Best Quarterback in the NFL (Copyright, (c) 2012, Joe Flaccid)" can win a shootout against even a rookie like Luck, you're living in a dream world. New England matches up against Indy. You DON'T.

We play Denver in a month. We shall see.

You shall see a humiliating defeat. Enjoy.

How yins doing, Fred? Neck hurt yet from looking up at the Ravens at the top of the standings? A full 3 games up now.

You crack me up.

It appears you wrote your post in the minutes leading up to the kickoff of what may have been your most humiliating loss of the season. And that’s tough, given you also lost to Oakland. Man, that had to truly suck for you. Did you get to watch all 8 of those turnovers?

And then have to watch the Ravens do it again.

See, that’s the difference between us. I live in the real world, where the Ravens are 9-2 and the Steelers are 6-5. You live in the dream world where you think your diatribes about Flacco and the Ravens matter. They don’t. But they are funny as all get out.

It’s all about making the playoffs, which we will do, and you likely will not. I’m not seeing a 9-7 team from the AFC making it this year, and given the Steelers current level of performance, that record might even be a stretch.

I should tell you that I spent my college years somewhere in between Pittsland and Cleveburgh, so I’m all too familiar with the bark of the rabid Steelers fans. Funny stuff.

Looking forward to our chat after next week’s game. Will you post your breathless prognostications before the game, or will you learn from yesterday’s debacle? Either way, enjoy your week. With the AFC North in the bag, I know I will.

You know, had a few moments to kill so I thought you needed to be taken to school (again).

You wrote: Your defense doesn't even belong in the same stadium as New England's at this point in the season

You'll have to explain, then, why, in the last 4 games for both teams (both teams having won each of the 4) that the Patriots have given up almost 300 yards more through the air (1153 to 859) and almost 100 yards more on the ground (507 to 413). During that same period the Pat's D has given up 81 points (20+ per game) while the Ravens have given up 63 (15+ per game).

Oh wait, you must be thinking ... strength of schedule and all that. Nope. Each team in that timeframe has played one team with a winning record and 3 with losing records.

Weren't you the guy barking at others for their lack of grasp regarding the facts of this discussion? Why, yes, that was you, at least twice on this very thread. And touting Charlie (3 interceptions vs the Browns) Batch in a different post. Have you gotten anything right yet?

Nice game.

Loser.

In the Brown's fiasco Batch statistically got three picks, but, again, those of us who actually watched the game as opposed to those who simply comment on it, know that Batch threw two picks, and the the third "interception" was a ball the receiver juggled directly into the (very lucky) waiting hands of the defender; it was not a miscue on Charlie's part.

Please note though, that, as I predicted, Batch is good enough to beat you.

Congratulations. You lost, IN YOUR HOUSE, to a guy who will be turning 38 in a few days.

Yes, I did have to watch the Ravens beat the Steelers again.

You were, after all, playing with all your starters, while our special teams were practice squads guys, and our special teams were starters. You did have the best quarterback in the NFL ((c) 2011-2012, Joe Flaccid.) Whereas we were playing with a banged up 38 year old who just came off IR.

You were playing in M&T Stadium, where you're invincible.

So of course I wasn't surprised that you completely crushed us tonight.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Loser.

My Dad took me to my first Steeler's game on 11/20/1960. In those days, the [still] cheapskate Rooney's would not buy a stadium, and they played in Pitt Panther stadium on the edge between Oakland (where my Dad went to grad school) and the Hill District (where we lived.) Pittsburgh actually won that game 14-10. In those days, we did not win many. We did not have a decent team until I was in High School.

Since then, I have hated Cleveland in all of its forms, including the Baltimore Modells. Sadly, I don't think either the Steelers or the Ravens are anywhere near the teams they were two years ago -- or even last year. Luckily, the OH teams continue to be poor to mediocre. Both because of history and because of how awful they are, it actually bothered me much more to lose to Cleveland than the Ravens.

I believe this year Houston is playing Steeler[/Raven] type football better than anyone else. Any team can stumble, but if they play their game I don't think anyone in either Conference can stop them.

Born in the shadows of the light standards of Baltimore’s old Memorial Stadium. My first game would have been in the early 60s, don’t recall the details.

I was a Maryland boy going to college in Ohio when I learned that you cannot put Browns and Steelers fans in the same room if alcohol is present.

Agree re: Houston, but their D has been a bit suspect a couple of times this year - Brady and the Pats are certainly a team that could take them down.

Also agree about the Steelers and Ravens not quite where they have been - I think both teams are beginning to show their age, especially on D.

I think we both need to be a bit wary of Cincy. Wildly inconsistent this year, but when they are playing well ...
