Sorry, Blitz was the manufacturer of the jeep cans too. Gone! (and used ones are going for $75.)

Back in the mid 70’s while on the job, I drove by a box along the side of the road at least eight times. The box stayed there all day and when I got off work I drove my car to where the box was and it was still there. Inside was a new unused 5 gal. safety gas can that looks exactly like the one at the amazon link below.

http://www.amazon.com/Justrite-Mfg-7150100-RED-GAS/dp/B0042KUJ1E/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1353461462&sr=1-1

The can has been used continuously since I got it home. I keep it full and stored in my attached garage. Never had a problem.

Recently I began to use it for storage of non ethanol laced gasoline. This type gas will allow your small gasoline engine powered tools to last longer without fouling out the carburetors. I have a new chain saw and plan to use the ethanol free gasoline in it because I’ve been told that the number one cause of failure for them was using ethanol laced gasoline.
