Complaints About Turkey Attacks On The Rise In Brookline
WBZ ^ | Bobby Sisk

Posted on 11/21/2012 6:06:56 PM PST by mkmensinger

Neighbors are on the offensive in Brookline after what some residents are describing as aggressive turkeys.

“They were attacking the vehicle,” Karen Halvorson said outside her home in the Aspinwall Hill neighborhood.

After getting in her truck, a neighbor came and ran the birds off but it didn’t stop there.

“Then, the turkeys came and started attacking my front door,” she said.

My wild turkeys come in my yard if I don’t get the corn out for them early enough.

I have had plenty of dealings with ‘Wild Turkey’(s) and corn never entered the picture.

I am waiting for a President with gonads to stop this idiotic BS of ‘pardoning’ the Turkey.

My ‘hero’ will go to the lawn for the ceremony, snap his fingers and an ‘old stump’ will appear and an ax will be handed to the Pres - who will take the first whack.

They could raffle off swings at the turkey on the stump.

Of course the first president with the appropriate gonads will probably be TFPWOB — a woman of the stature of HRC.

Would that a turkey, much less more than one, would attack my front door. I would open the door and then go “Red Queen” on them. For lurking Libtards, Google Alice In Wonderland. Hint the character under discussion is known for the following line: “Trial later, Sentence first! Off with their heads! Off with their heads!”

If only said turkeys could present at the door plucked.

I did too, once. I don't remember the encounter.

Heck, a wild turkey attacked my husband’s car last year! Cost over $1000 to be repaired. Since then we have installed deer whistles on the grille because that particular car had been attacked by a coyote and a raccoon previously. No further problem.

Love that car. It is far too valuable (having been repaired several times at great expense) to replace. We still have many miles to put on it, and it’s in great shape if we can just keep animals from running in front of it.

My car (bought used) came with deer whistles already installed, and we find that they really work. My driveway is a deer crossing. Normally the deer stop and stare and (often as not) charge right at you instead of getting out of the way. We noticed that when we were driving the car with the deer whistles, however, the deer would stop, stare and bolt the opposite direction. So, we decided to fit the other car with whistles. It seems to be working. And the whistles work for other animals too.

Likewise....BUT I would have remembered corn...ha...

So, there must be a ‘story’ in the Naked City inre your scream name??? just sayin...

I had mentioned the pardoning of the turkey etc and saw on the local news that obozo pardoned 2 turkeys....SOB just has to be the star, so maybe in year 7 he will off Tom...

They also had pictures of him handing out turkeys and other food items at a food bank...nice gesture BUT the people gushing over his highness was really sickening -
He, like Marion Berry, should be spending more time in GETTING PEOPLE OUT OF THE FOOD BANKS and self sufficient, rather than patting themselves on the back because they are ‘feeding the homeless’.

It would be (well somewhat) different if they were dipping into their own pockets with the donations.....

In a story on aggressive MA turkeys, no accounting for Barney Frank, Mike Dukakis, or John F. Kerry?

Stand your ground and when it gets close enough, grab it behind its head and with your other hand grab their feet and upside down they cannot hurt you....you get to see how far you can throw them and they don't come back....same way to stop an attacking goose. Gloves not needed unless your breaking up a fight between 2 males...I use to raise them. A wild one flew into one of my pens where I had 1 tom and 3 hens, Royal Palms...those toms can get nasty with each other...yep, that calls for gloves...hubby handed me the gloves and said .....go get him....he didn't like large birds..the wild one had a beard that touched the ground...Ended up cross breeding them. The wild one was named Isaiah Thomas, forgot the name of the other one, but was named after another basketball player for Detroit...White one...The name at the back of my head is saying Bill Lambeer /SP

Les Nessman: [freaked out] I really don't know how to describe it. It was like the turkeys mounted a counter-attack! It was almost as if they were... organized!

Isiah Thomas was brown (wild turkey) Bill Laimbeer was white, a Royal Palm with just a thin edge of black on every tail feather....that was before everyone was racist...
