The North Texas native, 81, died Friday at Medical City Dallas after spending Thanksgiving with family and friends.

His mother, Mary Martin, was a good friend of my grand mother. When my twin brother and I were 5 we were in a school play as Raggedy Andy and Ann. She came t my grandmothers house with her makeup artists and we looked like the real thing.

Knowing J.R., he probably made a sleazy business deal with the devil and took over Hell.
J.R. Ewing was a great character and Hagman a fine actor. It's very sad to know that such a good-natured, friendly guy let himself be snared in liberalism.
Good-natured, friendly guys (who are not particularly deep thinkers) are EXACTLY the kind who are duped by liberalism. It’s just the easiest thing to be. Let’s all help each other.
The J.R. character, as brought alive by Hagman, made that show. He was the only reason I watched it (occasionally).
Without him it would have just been another yawning prime time soap opera.
