BTW, A**holes, some of us DID speak out about the Elian kidnapping when it happened — quite publically as a matter of fact.

Same thing when Waco happened.

Same thing on Benghazi.

Same thing when they shoved ObaMaoCare down our throats...

etc., etc.

We were doomed a long, long time ago.

You're only as doomed as you think you are.

If you truly have lost all hope for America, then what's the point of commiserating daily with those who still do? You want to convince us that we ought to give up like you have?

Go lay down and die somewhere, if that's all you've got.

WOW! What a great thread this is! All of the comments are like therapy to me during this most frustrating time. They are my thoughts exactly!

I had to spend Thanksgiving Day in the enemy camp. We were at my sister-in-law’s house, and it was hell for me. Her husband, children, neighbors, and my 98 year old mother-in-law are Obama voters who did the happy dance when he won.

My husband is he only patriot (combat veteran) Republican in his family. He and I agreed to stay mute and not discuss the election in order to have a civilized dinner together with his family. The only solace for us is that we are secure in our knowledge that they are all unbelievable morons.

Both of my conservative sons found it hard to believe that their own grandmother would sell them down the river. They are highly educated professionals and understand economics and history. My youngest son could not control himself the day after the election and Facebook posted to my sister-in-law a rant that made me proud. He simply stated that women fought hard to win the right to vote in 1920, and that the right to vote was not there for women in the first 6 years of his grandmother's life. He said that his own grandmother dishonored all of those women who fought so hard by voting for Obama, who will take away so many of their other freedoms. He then said, “Boo, Grandma, boo!” My sis-in-law wrote back to him, “And, boo to you, too!”

It was somewhat out of character for him, but he he was so angry about the election. I was very proud of him for speaking up. He was extremely disappointed in her, but, Grandma is an old Roosevelt Democrat, and nothing will sway her. She also fell for the fairy tale that health care will now be free for all! God help us.

One image I have had since the election is from the movie Doctor Zhivago when the family returns to their beautiful private home which has now been taken over by the communist revolutionaries. Ominous.

Well, you seem to have touched a nerve here.....Seems that we all have family members who we love because they are “family” and yet can’t be around because of their politics. We have become, sadly, a country divided. It is time to stop playing “nice”. We won’t win this country back by all hiding in our basements with a roll of toilet paper, a gallon of water and a can of Spam.

Be best we never have to find out.

Myself, I've got this topic pegged as little more than a bull session. All those resistance advantages mean that any attempt to impose a dictatorship would be short-lived. Unless Fate has a gigantic Black Swan a'waiting, one that none of us can hope to forecast, any attempt to impose a dictatorship on America would collapse of its own accord quickly.

As for the Dems, they're quite used to gaining and keeping power through elections and counting on their own boys to "nudge" things when the electorate repudiates them. Why would the libs even take the risk? If there's one rule in life, it's this: the King of the Mountain is least likely to tear down the mountain, because he'll imperil his Kingship.

The point I was making was that any would-be oligarchs of America would be Americans too. Almost certainly born and raised.

Foreigners are largely ignorant of how America really works and what Americans are really like. I'm sure you've seen that many times. But, it's also true of any country. With respect to COIN, what this translates into is a huge disadvantage vis-a-vis native insurgents. In this scenario, the ignorant foreigners are the COINs. Book learning and briefing books can only take you so far. They can never tell you if you're being kidded along, for example.

But if you grew up in the same nation and culture, you're a lot harder to fool. That ignorant-foreigner disadvantage largely disappears. That's why FARC, the Shining Path and those Chiapas (?) rebels were only successful in carving out a de facto semi-autonomous region in the country that they and the legitimate government share. As for Mexico, the drug lords have done a lot more to undermine the Mexican government than the Chiapas boys have.

But the points you raise just reinforce my belief that anyone seriously proposing to turn America into a dictatorship would be deemed insane - even by those who'd secretly like to. If you can think of those points, it's a sure bet that Pentagon experts have thought of several more. And would be very eager to list them to any would-be cabal.

I know that the Messiah won his second term, but the Dems got slapped down hard in 2010. Again, they fell into the trap of assuming that their favourite nostrums are more popular than they actually are. Now that they've been slapped, they'll almost certainly be very cautious about (say) gun-grabbing. Thankfully, even the real tyrants in America know when it's time to back off.

Irrelevant. We have the will to defeat them . It will not happen overnight but it can be done . Among the things we need to do is learn just what it is that we really believe & then start teaching that to others .

This will require working around the media/propaganda organs (ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN etc) it will require imaginative propaganda from our own side (remember the Why So Socialist posters ) also don’t expect the current leadership of the GOP to do jack shit as that would upset the applecart & get them dis-invited to cocktail parties.

Their is much work to be done & very little organization at this time , the TEA party is now a resistance movement to both the communists of the DNC & the Donkey Dick suckers of the RNC.
