They got skunked yesterday; ouch.
Word
He went 3-9 and 2-10 at Iowa State.
I think several things happened. I think after the loss to LSU some finger pointed started. It was clear that neither Frazier or Mosley were up to the task the team stopped believing they could win. Finally I think the younger players succumbed to the media whispering campaign that said a NCAA investigation into Memphis football was going to pull in Auburn. Chizik nor his coaching staff could get out front of these issues and the situation snowballed into what we have today.< p>He is a good man. Perhaps in over his head. The Auburn athletic department is going to have to develop a strategy to deal with an openly hostile state sports media. I’ve been following Auburn football for 40 years. We knew the media played up Bama and dealt with it. We are operating in a completely different environment driven mostly by Danny Sheridan and Paul Finebaum. They don’t even attempt neutrality and are at best adversarial. Very unprofessional, if not out and out corrupt.
They seem to be pretty good at football.............
but not all that bright.
UGLY!
Ugly, indeed. I was there last night.
Thanks for the ping, Clint. I saw the stories earlier this morning (for me, it is Monday morning) but, frankly, I didn’t have the heart to print it.
This is not a surprise. I wish we could have scored something at the Iron Bowl. However, that is in the past.
I wish Gene Chizik and the coaches my best wishes. They are truly men with whom I wish to associate and can value as role models.
However, it isn’t enough to be a good person; you have to be also competent at your job. Apparently, Chizik wasn’t. I think the NC was obtained with mostly Tuberville recruits and Cam. Chizik just got lucky.
I wish Jay Jacobs had gotten the boot as well. He has brought the overall sports program down and needs to be doing something else.
Sorry, list, that I was late pinging you. I had to teach a few classes.
Which at the time, was a good record.
It is STILL great to be an Auburn Tiger!
War Eagle!
War Eagle to you and have a blessed evening.
Thank you and blessings to you as well.
War Eagle!
Gotta link? I had no idea. Putting up with the BS about Cam his entire season and now this? WTF!
I watched. I always hope to catch a glimpse of her when they show the band. :) One of her friends from high school played the year they won the Championship and two of her friends at the other school got to play at last years Championship and might get to play again this year. I did buy me a Tiger Eyes Championship Hoodie and a Season Record or whatever showing teams and scores from two years ago so will wear them both in good health when visiting Auburn. :) Good that you made Mrs. S watch. haha :)
War Eagle!
The story has been circulating since September, however this version just happened to appear on Iron Bowl week. Somebody allegidly submetted a false HS transcript for an AU signee. Auburn reported the discrepancy. End of story for Auburn. Any recent NCAA activity in Auburn would be investigating football in Memphis. Several schools have been interviewed. BTW, the “source” for the Yahoo story was Alabama (state of) media.
I think it was also the LSU game that the very young coaching assistant or not sure of his title from Huntsville died right before the game. I didn’t even know until afterwards but I know the team and all the coaching staff were aware. Never heard anything else. So young, so sad.
Yes it is, War Eagle!
I believe you are correct. I had forgotten about that.
Sounds like Alabama media takes its queues from the 0bama media.
