ESPN later ran with the story and referenced Yahoo and The Birmingham News (which referenced the Yahoo story). Yep, does sound like the Obama media.
What instrument? My daughter is in the Mello section. Although she plays clarinet and alto sax for other concert and jazz bands.
I remember when she was texting me from the bus for her very first game @ Auburn going to the Georgia Dome earlier this year . . . she said she felt almost like royalty or something with the state trooper escort and getting to run the red lights in town on the motor coaches. haha and wifi and tv’s on the bus . . . vs. the ole yeller Madison County school buses she was accustomed to. haha
Still am, actually. I majored in music ed and married a band director. Lost cause, actually.
I was elated when he left Iowa State. He never wanted to be here.
We have a great coach now in Paul Rhodes who loves the state and Iowa State University.
Chizik could have cared less for our state and our team. He had no desire to go out and recruit in state athletes.
He seemed to be a good coach however; surprised to see him let go so soon after winning so big.
Will Auburn try to lure Nick Saban away from Alabama?
How about Jeff Fisher from the Rams?
I play the clarinet. Hubby plays the A. Sax, for a brief period he was even first chair. We didn’t use melophones when I was there and didn’t have flags and all that other hoopla. Just good music. Bodie Hinton was head of the music dept. and Doc Walls was the director. Johnnie Vinson, assistant.
I think everyone knew it half-way into the SEC Conference schedule.
saban? ugh. I sure hope not. I have absolutely no respect for that scummy, low-life. I would rather lose all the time than have that poor excuse for a human at my school.
That is NOT to say they won’t try. There are some who hold that winning is more important than anything else.
I do not hold that opinion.
I am not familiar with Jeff Fisher.
I have absolutely no inside information. I grew up in Auburn and graduated there as did most of my family. But as for information on the current workings of the institution, sorry, I can’t help you.
How about Tommy Bowden as the new head coach? He has actually. had a good record. Maybe Baby Bowden poisoned the well for Bowdens at Auburn but I bet Tommy would do well unless he is retired.
You have to admit that Saban took the foot off the accelerator at half time. He could have put up a whole lot more.
Steve Spurrier would have.
Thanks, Jem.
The athletic director @the Auburn needs to go as well. I never understood why they let Tubberville go except that Dye didnt like him. This has been a very frustrating year.
You are correct.
Gotta go now; I have some meetings. I’ll respond to pings late tonight (I am on the otherside of the world above Australia).
Risk his starters? Nope.
Even though Bama are a-holes, Saban knows better.
Thanks.
Tressel’s schtick was getting old at OSU before his downfall...it was time for him to go anyway.
OSU is no. 3 in basketball at the moment...playing Duke Wednesday night.
Well, Pat Haden is a good and honorable AD. He will find a good (and honorable) coach, God-willing.
part of the plan...all those coaches are white.
