I have several of those metal cookie containers. They have pretty pictures on them and I just can't throw them away. I mainly have three family members who visit me and they have been helping me get rid of stuff I don't need anymore and I think they believe I am a little nuts for hanging onto these empty, pretty, metal cookie containers. None of them store anything, so they don't get it. If they had their way, they would throw away every prep I have, including the long term food, just to create blank space. They have no idea what is in those #10 cans of long term food that is under beds.
Back in an earlier time, when the Christmas metal cans with popcorn came out, they were really big cans then and I have two of those filled with zillions of boxes of strike anywhere matches. That is when you could buy strike anywhere at grocery stores. That was before the government didn't trust us with strike anywhere matches.
