— n , -tivies 2. a hunting cry, esp at full gallop

— interj 3. a hunting cry, esp at full gallop

Etymology: Origin: 1635–45; origin uncertain

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

While allowing for tantivy to mean doing something quick I’d guess it’s related to the question, “Is that ivy?” and the answer, “No, thets kudzu, taint ivy.”
So tantivy is just taintivy with one of its eyes put out.
