I was on the phone talking and flipping through channels and saw an AARP commercial. I stopped flipping channels for no real purpose.
Towards the end of the commercial they have a graphic of the USA and the way the move onto the next talkng point/topic/sales pitch is to show a graphic of the USA spiraling upside down until it disappears while it is upside down.
maybe not a big deal but kind of pissed me off.
It's called "Truth in Advertising."
AARP just called me a few minutes ago. They are performing a research survey on protecting Social Security in the current budget negotiations.
They were utterly shocked when I said that everything should be on the table for discussion in order to save our country from collapse.
Their questions were very biased and it appeared they were just collecting data to support their position.
AARP is a leftist organization. Every time it would send me literature asking me to join I fold and cram everything they sent me into their postage-paid remittance envelope with a message informing them that they would never get a dime from me as long as they pushed the liberal agenda. They finally stopped sending their garbage, which was my goal.
Good idea.
I heard you can also send back what they think is an envelope with a check in it with staples in it. Not going to break the machine but it will have to be sorted by hand instead of the machine.
I never thought of just sending back what they sent you.
You’d be surprised what you can fit in those remittance envelopes. I’ve crammed them so full they were practically round. I was surprised that I had to do that about three times before they finally stopped sending me things but that’s about what it took. I haven’t gotten anything from them since and it’s been years.

The AARP is a branch of the communist democrat party.
Couple of years ago, while AARP was pimping for Obama on ObamaCare, they held a “townhall” style meeting in Dallas. Someone from AARP really screwed up and a video from that meeting got posted on the Internet.
It was one of the rudest, most nasty townhalls I ever witnessed. The AARP moderator was awful! She displayed total disregard for the feelings and opinions of the elderly participants.
After seeing the video, I contacted AARP, canceled my membership, and refuse to have any more to do with them!
I encourage everyone to do the same!
AARP working with SEIU wrote Obamacare.
United Healthcare (which is in all AARP ads) is run by SEIU.
I canceled a number of years ago because of their anti-self defense/anti-gun stance and generally lefty view of the world. At the time I was subscribed to their auto club which was somewhat less expensive then AAA, time ran out and I got a bill from the auto club for an additional year. I called them and said I was no longer a member of AARP and the man I was talking to said "it didn't matter because we are not a part of the organization, we are an independent company. If you pay our bill we will provide you coverage." I'm still with them and they are still cheaper than AAA.

Party when Clintons tried to do what Obama did, namely go after our health care....I didn’t send them any more money, but for years I got junk from The party and any person the party supported....I did the same thing you did....finally stuffed one of their envelops with as much as I could jam in there and sent it back to them. They sent me one more and then put occupant on envelope. I haven’t gotten another one in a couple of years. I had so much of their junk in the envelop I had to close it with scotch tape....if anyone is having the same problem, sending it back stuffed with rep. junk they have been sending you, they assume you moved...

That’s actually what they call a “push poll” in the business. It goes something like this: “Two people are running for president. The Republican, Mitt Romney, is a super-rich wife-beater that preys on people in poverty. The Democrat, Barak Obama, is a man that loves all of us and wants to make the United States the greatest country in the world. Our question for you: Who do you prefer for president, that sleazebag Romney, or that wonderful, caring, man, Obama?”
The purpose of the phone call is not to gauge what you think - they already know their position on the issue, per DNC instructions, but rather to sway you to their side. They could care less what you think.
You can always tell it’s push poll by how the questions are phrased. Real polling organizations make their questions as dry as possible.
I did the same thing but threw in some dirt or small rocks I had laying around. Pretty much anything to weigh it down. I called and emailed and asked to be taken off their leftist propaganda mailing list. I was ensured several times that I had been removed via emails and phone calls yet the mail kept coming. Got the BBB involved and AARP lied to them about taking me off their mailing list and I provided proof back to the BBB about mail I had received after AARP had informed the BBB I had been removed from all mailing list.
I got rather enraged in a conversation with an AARP representative on the phone, ended up with some supervisor who said, “this may seem macabre but if I put you and your wife in our system as deceased that should resolve the problem.” I said consider us dead and that ended all AARP mails for us.
