Seriously? This kid is going to be raised as another spoiled brat if mama doesn't expect the kid to obey her parents and follow the rules.
To hell with the rules. Rules are often made by idiots for other idiots to follow. This girl's mistake was that she refused to obey reality. Reality is a much harsher master, and says quite clearly that if you hold a food container in front of an animals face, it will want to gobble that food and anything holding it. Her parents are guilty of failing to teach their kids about reality.

The state decided to put a big ugly cyclone fence along one of the most scenic parts of the California coast because morons of the type who fail to obey reality were trying to pet the sea lions sunning themselves on the rocks.
That's like going up and "petting" the nice rottweiler guard patrol dog squad at the local junkyard. And if you've ever been within ten feet of a sea lion, it just doesn't take a rocket scientist to kind of get the idea that it's a lot smarter to keep your distance. Hello????? How in hell did these folks thinking they can just approach and pet one, ever live past 10 years old??
*sigh*
