Wow. I didn't realize that ESPN almost gained control of every game.
Some of the games will be nice, others are just repeats, ala LSU vs. Clemson.
Florida vs. Oregon would have been nice.

What happened to the old days when bowl games were named after obscure citrus fruits?

Who in their right mind decided that Northern Illinois should get the at-large bid over the University of Oklahoma? It should be OU vs Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

Obscure citrus fruits got out-bid by obscure businesses.

OU is one the short list of teams nobody wants to see win. UNtil there is some sort of top 8 or top 10-12 playoff college rankings mean bupkiss.
Example Alabama loses and only drops 2 spots to move right back to a #2 position. A likes of OU, Kansas St, or Notre Dame had lost they would have dropped out of top 10 (as they did early on).

Which game is going to have more fans in Pro Player Stadium, The Orange Bowl, or a typical Miami Hurricanes home game?

Wow. We have more bowl games than good teams to play in them.

The only good games outside of ND-Bama, are the Fiesta Bowl (Ore-K State), the Cotton (A&M-OU)....The only other game that really does anything is the Holiday Bowl matchup between Baylor-UCLA.

Writing this from Columbus, Ohio.
Most bowls w/ Big Ten teams not good match-ups. I only see one Big Ten team winning (Wisconsin, if their big uglies show up).
Here’s hoping that Alabama wins the Championship Game, so that OSU remains sole undefeated team.

Massive GLAAD protests at the Charles Nelson Reilly Bowl brought a permanent end to those days.

6-6 Pitt and 6-6 Ole Miss meeting in a crumbling stadium in Birmingham, AL on January 5. Does anyone really NEED this??

What’s sad is that most schools wind up losing money on these bowl games, maybe La Tech had the right idea.

Wow. I didn't realize that ESPN almost gained control of every game. Except for the Jan.1 and BCS games, who else is going to show them? Granted, NBC and CBS have growing national cable sports networks (and Fox is looking to join in the fray), but none of them have the penetration or resources of ESPN yet.
