I’ve used Symantec Endpoint, corporate edition, for many years, and never had any trouble with it.

Another possibility that no one has mentioned is that you have picked up some kind of malware that is PRETENDING to be Norton. I think I remember something of that kind a couple of years ago. In fact I think this is likelier than Norton sending that message, which I have never seen on FR.

You might try Malwarebytes and/or SpyBot Search & Destroy to search your computer and see if there is any virus or malware on it.

Also, you might hover your mouse over that Symantec link and see where it points to. Don’t click on it, but just check it. That might be another indicator that this is a virus. Don’t be fooled if it says “symantec” somewhere down the line but starts with some other website after the http://.
