Turns out, everyones susceptible to the holiday blues: a mall Santa was fired in Maine for being a downright grinch. Parents complained and fa-la-la-la-la, he lost his job.
Taking to Facebook, the angry parents voiced their irritation with the Scrooge Santa. The mother of 6-year-old Chantel Mailhiot told WGME 13 that the Santa wouldnt allow her daughter to sit on his lap simply because she didnt purchase a $20 photo package. Apparently, though, it gets worse: even after little Chantel told Santa she wanted an American girl doll, he told her that instead, shed get an American football.
After Chantels mom went on Facebook to lodge her complaint, she found a sea of complaints from other parents regarding the callous Santa, as well. Janelle Bavota wrote, The Santa here is extremely rude, abrupt, and has no holiday spirit whatsoever. I was very disappointed. Others complained of dirty looks from the Santa to their children.
Another mom, Ka Judice, said,
We had the same experience today. He made my 11 year old son cry [sic] basically told him he was being greedy my son who has neurological problems and very much believes was so confused!!! I dont know what to do now. If I take him to a new Santa elsewhere my kids might notice the difference. They have always believed the mall had the real Santa.

Football? Whats a football? - Ralphie
The kids should just start believing in Santa Obama. He’ll just give the kids all kinds of free goodies after forcefully taking them from the parents!
And that’s part of the problem with the war on Christianity - the evil-doers will try to fill traditional places in order to subvert the whole concept - similar to the activists that get jobs in social actions type positions. We were better off when winos donned the red suit and beards...
Who needs Santa anyway? We’ve got Obama Claus now. He’s the 24/7 365 Santa! Woot!!!! This joint is now like one of those year round Christmas stores they have for tourists where it’s Christmas every day of the year.
I always told mine that Santa is "the spirit of Christmas", and that people dress up like Santa to bring joy to others in celebration of Jesus' birthday, but you can't actually see a real spirit. This led into a discussion of the Holy Spirit.
I like that explanation.

Maybe he was trying to be nice to her parents. Has anyone checked the price of an American Girl doll? If he had promised one it would have committed her parents to spending a couple hundred buck.
