I'm curious about this 12.12.12 relief concert. Why do they need financial support from private citizens? New York and New Jersey voted for a candidate that promised big government is the solution to their problems. Has the government not provided for all their needs after the hurricane destruction?
That’s how liberals care. They go to a ritzy concert, and beg other people to give their money so they can use other people’s money to get credit for being charitable.
“we thank you all for lowering our tax brackets” < /sarc >
And Roger Waters sang “Money”.
Is the on-camera crew of celebrities all liberal?
I gave.
To Uncle Sam. Bronco Bamma will pass it on. He told me so......
I agree 100%. There are a lot of true patriots there, but unfortunately, they are surrounded by liberals. They need to move further in-land.
I doubt a dime will go beyond the hands of the organizers and entertainers involved. These leftist whine-a-thons have always been a scam.
Don’t you know that these entertainers have a lot more compassion than us ordinary folks.
I think you are missing the point, it is not about the people who suffered in Hurricane Sandy, it is only about all these Scumbag Communist, Adulterer, Charity Fraudsters getting mindless saps to pay for their PARTY, cuz in the end all the money will be spent on expenses, just ask Bon Jovi how the $15 Million dollars he raised for his last charity mysteriously disappeared into his EXPENSE ACCOUNT.
If FR had I like button I’d click it for your post.
Should I be sorry for supporting Right to Work in Michigan which in effect means Michigan workers won’t be allowed to help in the future?
Another pass by media for Obama
Let's not forget the lavish parties, the caviar and booze, the red carpet treatment, the bling bags worth tens of thousands
...and like all those African relief concerts, the money will disappear and the people may see a few bags of rice drop from a cargo plane if they are lucky.
I don’t care where the money goes - when the DVD comes out, I’m gonna score me one ...
When are ya ever gonna see all these guys on one concert - Bruce, Roger Waters, Bon Jovi, Clapton, The Stones, Alicia Keys, The Who, Kanye West, Billy Joel, Chris Martin, and McCartney ???
Here’s the list:
BTW: “Slow Hand” is the next to perform in about a minute !!!
Other than church, I have one single criteria for charitable giving; if the charity gives support to anyone who voted for obama, I do not give to that charity.
I wish the rich libs would just go pick up a shovel there and do some hard labor and help to clean it up instead of begging for money. My daughter and her husband went with a Church group from California to help they also went to help after Katrina. They did much more help than the government or the overrated celebs. The people they helped were very grateful and they know who is helping and who is not. Not to mention a lot of tax money went there already I won’t give a dime.
No one has the right to demand that the rest of us cough up money because they did not prepare. No one has the right to demand that the rest of us cough up money to rebuild houses at or below sea level. Sorry.
Everybody has their own opinion, but this line up is so unimpressive to me that I wouldn't even expend the energy to reach for the clicker to change the channel.
Oh sure Kayne West is such a talent- what a joke
More about self-promotion and self-agrandizment than anything else.
I’m setting aside the political for a few hours to watch some of the GREATEST play some rock n roll. Kanya comes on we’ll flip back to Castle...
“Got to git better in a little while...”
Nice Eric, but it will be mo’ than a little while...
G
I just gave the full line up - I really don't care for Keys, Martin, or West. Joel is ok - if he plays the old stuff ...
Waters KICKED ASS - tunes from "The Wall" and "Dark Side Of The Moon".
Clapton is JAMMIN' right now - "Got To Get Better In A Little While" ...
Clapton playin’ “Crossroads” now ...
“My city is gone” - Bruce Stringbean
“My country is gone” - AFIP
yeah let uncle sugar do it
I wouldn’t pay one red cent for it. If Hank Jr. was on it, yeah.
That was what George Harrison realized after the concert for Bangladesh and not much has changed ever since when cameras are involved.
The Stones are about 20 minutes after Clapton ...
Oh no, Webb Hubbell’s daughter reading the teleprompter!
I completely agree!
Those poor basta**s pay some of the highest takes in the country, at both the state and federal levels. Now, kick in extra for what is suppose to be already provided for?
I was in OfficeMax last week and was asked for a contribution for the teachers? I told them no, the teachers in NY and NJ are some of the highest compensated people in the country, why do they need a contribution from me? Heck, I’m totally disabled, living on an ever decreasing fixed income!
Wasn’t FEMA suppose to be the answer to all our emergency needs. Now, just more da**ed federal hacks drawing a pay check (very large paycheck) and doing nothing.
State “death spiral” visiting NY and NJ next!
Let Obama fixed it
This country has lost its way. What a bunch of pu**ies we’ve all become. Even back as recent as Andrew - the people just picked up, rebuilt, or moved on. Between then and now, everything has changed. And not for the better.
Oops - Stones are on about 10-15 mins. after Clapton ...
Politics aside, I feel as old as sh*t.
Every performer so far is 50+. Many older than that.
Do all the little young pencil di&ks who are texting 666 or what ever to donate $$$ even know who the performers are?
Rock and roll is indeed dead (or getting there).
What do the performers get out of it, inquiring minds want to know? Do they perhaps get paid on paper and then “donate” the funny money to the cause and get a tax write-off? Who pays their costs, which ain’t just spare change for groups like the Stones?
Here by the way where the live stream is:
http://www.mediaite.com/online/live-stream-the-12-12-12-concert-for-hurricane-sandy-relief/
Saw on the news tonite that FEMA would not put trailers in people's driveways since they were in "flood zones" ...
Didn't matter that these "flood zones" were in the "once every 100 years" zones ...
Stones on now ...
Mick is close to being 70 years old...
He still wiggles like a weeble but don’t fall down!
Keith’s doin’ a good job on “You Got Me Rockin’” ...
“Largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled in Madison Square Garden,” tonight according to Mick ...
Stones were already in NYC on tour - playing a concert there over the weekend ...
don’t most of ‘em live in USA now because of the UK tax crap?
lacquer on the guitar is peeling off!!
How can acts like Bruuuce and An Chovi write off the donation of their time when they staged massive outdoor “free” concerts to lure the masses to Obama rallies in election seasons? Weren’t those campaign contributions over the maximum?
I’m sorry but these Rolling Stones do better old Rolling Stones: http://theunauthorizedrollingstones.us/
Hell, I’m bitter...so sue me!
Not one penny more to anyone, organization or relation...I’m through!
I’m keeping all my resources for when TSHTF......
Good luck with the live stream. They will all buffer and/or run at 240 or 480 resolution.
I’ve heard that donation of time cannot be written off, hence my guess that they all get paid on paper.
Only bit I wanted to see was the Stones (wasn’t Mick Taylor supposed to be in this appearance? He’s there Saturday).
My web stream locked up during their set.
Now back to liberal hosts. Conservatives need not apply. Might say something like “Baraq Ubama doesn’t like American people”.
And Bob Geldof with Live Aid 1985 (?)....
He admitted eventually that it was all for naught...
Wow! This is the same bunch of celebrities that held the huge fund raiser when we flyover rednecks were stacking sandbags along the Mississippi! (sarcasm)
Reading the thread and your comment about Jagger, I recall Mackenzie Phillips telling about how he did her when she was something like 12 or 13.
Another reason I wouldn’t watch it.
