Release date: November 22, 2013
The continuing adventures of Katniss Everdeen, which take place in a futuristic dystopian world, as she prepares for the Quarter Quell.
Co-incidence or planned to time with JFK Assassination anniversay? Must be planned.
Ironically, the 50th Anniversary of the Kennedy Assassination falls on a Friday (same day of the week as it occurred 50 years ago).
I wonder if the movie is trying to use the Kennedy Assassination as a way to sell more tickets.
Having read the three books, I did not care for the third book. The second book might have been the best, in my opinion.
Yes I will probably watch this one and I agree the third book was the weakest. It looked like she was just trying to finish it. In a hurry.
I don’t see how you use the Kennedy assassination to sell more tickets to an SF movie that never once mentions Kennedy. I think it’s a coincidence, movies release on Friday most of the time, late November is the beginning of Oscarbait season, and still in the holiday rush. November releases were very good for Harry Potter.
Coincidence. All movies release on the same day of the week. This is the week before Thanksgiving, one of the biggest movie weeks of the year.
I read elsewhere of a father with two daughters, ages 9 and 6. The 9 year old saw The Hunger Games, and now wants to become and archer. The 6 year old saw the movie Brave, so now also wants to become an archer.
He remarked thank goodness that there aren’t any popular “horsie” movies right now. Bows and arrows he can afford.

Additionally, check out Lars Andersen...
Uses an old technique to shoot VERY fast
10 arrows in 4.9 seconds
11 arrows into the air before the first hits the ground
Legolas for real
etc......
Cheers
The first one sucked, so I won’t be watching any others. Likewise for the Twilight series.
The demographic that is interested in the release of the "Hunger Games" sequel doesn't give a flying freep about the Kennedy assassination, if they've even heard of it. Most of their parents probably don't care, either. The Willliam McKinley assassination isn't high on our list of concerns, either.
I’m thinking that they’re opening the Friday before Thanksgiving to ake a big push into December before he Chritmas blockbusters come out. I wouldn’t read more into that.
