Baby talk triggered NFL player Jovan Belcher's rage, leading to muder-suicide (baby wasn't his)

The Long Island mother of Kansas City Chiefs football player Jovan Belcher told investigators her son argued with his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins over their baby’s paternity before he shot her dead and killed himself, The Post has learned. Cheryl Shepherd — who was in her son’s suburban Missouri home the morning he shot Perkins nine times — told investigators after the shootings that there were questions about whether the West Babylon, LI-raised linebacker was the father of the couple’s 3-month-old daughter, Zoey, said sources familiar with the situation.

Guns don't kill people. Rage over your girlfriend cuckolding you kills people.

Well, what does this do to the validity of the trust fund the Chiefs set up for the innocent little girl?

Hopefully nothing legally, because the girl is of course still innocent. Might tamp down donations however.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but I think if cuckolding were the case, the element of surprise (at the paternity results) would not have been part of the equation. (assuming there was surprise, I did not bother to read the whole thing, in temporary violation of one of my own pet peeves...)

I wonder what the liberals and feminists would have to say if it had been Kasandra Perkins wha had emptied a magazine into Jovan Belcher after finding out that he had fathered a child with another woman?

“Rage over your girlfriend cuckolding you kills people.”

That’s a story as old as man and no amount of gun control will stop it no matter how far Bob Costas jumps ahead of the facts.

Did you mean to say "WOULD have been part of the equation"?

If the child WAS sure to be his, the mom could have instantly relieved his suspicions by simply saying "Of course it's yours, and to prove it we will have a DNA test done tomorrow morning".

If she had instead said "Too late, sucka! You have acknowledged paternity, so you are stuck with child support for the next 18 years, and there's NOTHING you can do about it!", then his blowing her away is understandable.

Sounds even more that Black Culture, and not guns, were the real problem here

Sounds like a broken heart may have snapped Belcher

Nothing I hope. She's still an innocent little girl.

Does this mean that Jovan Belcher now passes ESPN’s Rob Parker’s “Black-enough” litmus test standard?

It’s an age-old story. These are the moral decisions that people make that can have tragic consequences, yet since time began too many do not learn from either history or their religion.

I’m pretty sure he could have murdered her with his bare hands quite easily.

I see this has been properly worked out to make it the woman’s fault she was shot. Sports fans everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief.

Well, if she hadn’t probably said, “You ain’t man enough to pull that trigger,” none of this would have happened.

FWIW, we live in country where judges make men pay for other men’s children, even when it is proven they are not the responsible party.

Perhaps if there is a different father of the child he will zip it up long enough to come forward and claim the child?

It seems to me that there may have been plenty of mistakes on both sides, assuming that this story is correct. It’s just sad, and now a baby is without parents. I hope that the grandparents will step up and care for the child.
