THE HIGHWAYMAN

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas
The wind was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor
And the highwayman came riding
Riding - riding - riding -
The highwayman came riding up to the truck driver poor....

(From: The Highwayman by Alfred Noise...1906)

Saint Nicholas really did have a reason to say ho ho ho, when God saved his soul.

I agree with you on the blue headlights, they completely blind me. I have to look away from them and I am seeing more and more of those awful things.

“When one is both blue AND poorly aimed it can be egregious.”

I like the aftermarket ones that aren’t properly secured to the chasis which causes them to jiggle. Now *that’s* distracting.

And who ever successfully sued the police to get them to crack down on anything? Puh-leeze

That is basically my point. They just write another ‘law’ to cover it....

Somewhat like Article 134 UCMJ.

They cover everything from bed wetting to sucking your thumb(at least in my day - think that has been updated <:), yet they found the need for an Article 134

If the other 10,999 other in place instructions don’t cover your present situation, USE THIS ONE.

Of course the ‘Old Salts’ of my day would say “UCMJ is like getting away with everything. Now, “Rocks and Shoals” would keep you youngsters in line”.
(Not relayed in quite that tone or eloquence)<: <: <:

"The bottom line is there's so many people in this town right now that are hurting".

You can bet there are no city employees hurting...they have insurance, pensions and job security all at Mr. Hill's expense...oh, and $274 more of this guy's money to spend at the "Holiday" party. It's good to be the king! To Protect and Serve doesn't come cheap...now pay up.

Certainly I don’t know what a silver alert is but seems like we have, almost daily, alerts on some lost or missing senior in Texas. Of course we don’t have to slow down to read the information because we have plenty of time to note the information while sitting in traffic.

The copper because he has a badge makes an assertion which should not have gone unchallanged. Hill should get another lawyer and go back into court and require that cop to prove his claim. I’ll bet there is nothing in state/city statutes dealing with that assertion.

Is that a comment on the sound of his poetry?
