Holy cow, Mick Taylor’s touring with them this time? That’s awesome! The Stones’ best work (IMHO) was when Taylor was with the band.

i was really, and i mean REALLY, sad when Mick left he band in 74 and as of 2009 he was dead broke, but...

‘People are always asking me whether I regret leaving the Rolling Stones,’ he said. ‘I make no bones about it – had I remained with the band, I would probably be dead.

'I was having difficulties with drug addiction and couldn’t have lasted. But I’m clean now and have been for years.

maybe it was best, and i hope things work out for him

“The Stones’ best work (IMHO) was when Taylor was with the band.”

And John Mayall’s best stuff was when Mick Taylor was with his band - coincidence?

Agreed! Mick was better than Brian OR Ron. And their albums were great too.

The Stones’ best work (IMHO) was when Taylor was with the band.

And sadly, Taylor's best work was when he was with the Stones. He's just not the virtuoso today as he was when he was 20 and recording some of the best rock and roll ever produced. Then again, are any of us? I know my six string skills today at 44 pale to what they were when I was a teenager and had several free hours a day to build up my chops.

Anyways, he's not a full-fledged member. He's just joining them onstage at a few shows for a few numbers as part of their 50-year reunion. Good to see him though! The Stones were never the same after Richards pretty much scared the much younger, peace-loving, vegetarian, clean-living (and far more musically talented) Mick Taylor out of the band.

Mick Taylor has an enviable abundance of hair, but I’ve always felt that while he was the most polished of the Rolling Stones guitar players, he was also the least interesting.

Interesting. I recall reading a very good book on the recording of Exile... that made it sound like Taylor had never touched a drug in his life until he showed up at Nellcôte.

Saw the Stones in a TV interview a few days ago.

If there ever was a group of skeletors doing music, then the Stones would be it.

They could easily do a movie of the "walking dead" without makeup.

I was surprised to read he'd lost out on all those royalties. Then again, not really. Mick Jagger has long had a reputation as one of the most miserly skinflints in the business.

“I’ve always felt that he (Taylor) was the most polished of the Rolling Stones guitar players”

No if and or buts about it.
