i know several married couples who have been together since HS. that is just inconceivable to me. i was such a different person by the time i graduated college, moved from Pittsburgh and was working and independent. i know not everyone agrees, but i am a firm believer in being independent and fully developed as a person before marriage.

i’m also pretty adamant in telling my girls that quitting your job after marriage is not a great idea. as i like to say— husbands die, lose their jobs, or cheat/leave you. It is a matter of self preservation, IMO, to maintain a toehold in the workforce. i fully support those who stay home to take care of their kids, but as soon as they are in school, i think it’s good to get back to doing SOMETHING in the workforce, so you don’t have a 20 year unemployment gap on your resume.

Oh, my husband and I didn’t date in HS. We didn’t start dating until college — and we went to college 2500 miles apart!

I was referring to your HS classmates that you referenced. xsteen’s boyfriend’s parents have been together since they were 15 yo, as is the case with a good friend of mine here. it just boggles my mind.

I’ve never heard of a nut problem. My dog loves peanut butter. Sarah got him eating carrots by putting it on them.

This weekend she was decorating cookies and gave him a dog biscuit with icing on it. Boy did he look disappointed the next time we gave him a “plain” one.

Missy’s all time fav is french fries. If we bring even one home for her she can sniff it out and knows exactly where it is. I have never given her sweets. We think that Peanut got a Hershey kiss once and she got an autoimmune reaction which cost us $600 to cure. Most likely, it was the tin foil that did that to her, not the chocolate.

Hi, all:

Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ was grossly invigilated.
Due to topics that some thought needed to be investigated.
That today are Politically Correct and widely celebrated.

Much like the film ‘The Graduate’ and its May/December fling.
That surprised unaware audiences while making cash registers sing.
And created a search in Hollywood for “The Next New Thing!”.

Jack.

You are right - that is nuts! since all of that is REAL food why not just feed your dog from your own table? Sheesh..... and as far as my granddog, well, he wouldn't be a good taste tester because that thing will eat anything! Poor guy - he was on the streets eating dirt apparently, so he will even eat lettuce if you give it to him, or he snags it from you.

My daughter has a GREAT photo of a pizza they had just set on the counter and turned away for one second and the dog jumped up and took a huge bite! The photo is hilarious because you can tell it is his bit marks!

That is a good song-

The world is now a crazy place-
With leaders in delusional roles
And as many of us invigilate
And try to keep sensible goals

It is hard to be an optimist
When the Roman mob is screaming-
If you think they’ll pass you by,
Then you definately are dreaming

They want to loot and pillage-
And I doubt they will be quiet
If they get the emperor’s wave
To go ahead and start a riot

Dark sentiments, I know-but there is too much going down to be otherwise...

“Change the World” is an anthem of socialists who did too many drugs in their Wonderbread years...

If all that is “real” food, I have a strange dog-Husky girl will eat just about anything from a human’s plate, but if I buy the real or natural dog stuff for her, she either gives a “gag me” look, or puts it under something and nonchalantly walks away.

the drivetime DJs were discussing how many pairs of underwear they own. women appear to own far more than men. the consensus was that women own around 20+ pairs or so and men fewer. i have to say i have at least 20-25. more is better so that you are not over a barrel to do laundry every single weekend in order to have fresh ‘gutchies’ for the week.

I have no idea how this topic changed from involitates to “gotchies” ... But I travel (a lot!) and so felt I was the odd-ball with respect to nbr-of-underwear per male. And that because I had more than 7 sets.

I can’t image trying to fit 25+ sets (socks, briefs, and t-shirts) into a drawer.

Then again, I only have black socks and white socks, so most of the socks match each other most of the time.

You are such a good writer - it amazes me how quickly you write these poems each morning.

Although at the makeshift memorial the entire day, the mourners invigilate very little…

On the other hand, many a young male has many pairs because he just bought more when he didn’t have any clean ones!

it is ASTOUNDING, the speed with which the right is capitulating on this. I told xshub on Saturday that he should order the gun he'd been considering because this kind of thing would happen, but i didn't expect it THIS fast.

My husband still hasn’t unpacked his bag - I think he has forgotten he lives here now! lol Two years almost constantly away on projects has taken a toll on him. I think I will unpack for him today.
