Lots of guys have beaten my favorite team, it’s the nature of sports. I was pointing out Tebow’s faults long before that game.
I’m not talking about any inside football knowledge. In fact I’ve pointed you over and over to the stats page, pretty outside football knowledge.
Daniels got nearly 2 season between the Cutler situation (which was all Cutler’s fault, all players are on the trading block if the right offer comes along, Cutler should have understood that). Giving away 3 draft picks to pick up a 3rd rounder in the 1st round, and then putting a team on the field that clearly needed those extra draft picks is what got him fired. It’s always funny to me how bad Belichick disciples are on draft trades. One of the keys to the Pats success has been that trade early draft picks for multiple later (even next year) draft picks, they almost always walk into the draft holding more than 7 picks, which gives them a lot of trading room. And yet guys that worked for Bill have this terrible habit of making the exact kind of trade Bill always takes advantage of. Which is what gets them fired all the time.
And none of that is inside knowledge either. Just comes from spending my time in front of internet connected computers and paying attention.
And that’s back on the Jets coaching staff.
The Jets didn’t do the Wildcat correctly. Sanchez wasn’t the best fit for that offense and when Jets put in Tebow to run a Wildcat play, I mean, that’s too obvious and defense quickly anticipated to which plays Tebow is going to run.
For not realizing the QB they were trading for wasn’t all that. They believed the hype and not the stats, then he practiced... now they’re getting rid of him.
Which isn’t that different from how Sparano ran it in Miami. Everybody always knew when they were wildcatting because Brown or Williams lined up in the QB spot. Of course eventually Sparano got fired because the wildcat isn’t that cool, especially when you personnel selection telegraphs it. But that’s the path they chose in the off season, and then didn’t do much with it during the season.
They never had any intent to use him as a QB. Problem is,there is no way he could have been any worse than Sanchez.
The entire Jets coaching staff and FO are a bunch of morons. They are the biggest problem for the Jets.And with a subpar 2013 QB draft class, and few decent FAs, it won’t get any better.
Ill trust Belichick’s praise of Tebow anyday over the moronic decision making of the Jets.
He had plenty of chances. He was in practice all season, plus all the time in Denver. Part of his problem is his “successes” are always in spite of himself. 46% completions is not the number of a good QB, period. Yeah he’s got those 4th quarter comebacks, but what’s the key nobody acknowledges about a 4th quarter comeback? Being behind after 3.
He’s not a good QB. He can’t read defenses, his throws are unpredictable and inaccurate. Looks like he’ll get one more shot to fix it with the Jags, but he’s gonna have to fix it, because even the Jags aren’t gonna start a QB that can’t complete half his passes.

Also keep in mind Bill never says anything bad about the opponent before the game, he doesn’t like to give bulletin board material. He’s mister silent.
Sorry, but this time, Skip Bayless is right, as are a number of other NFL pundits who are finally admitting the fiasco in NY had nothing to do with Tebow or his abilities.

There’s a lot of fiasco in NY, but that doesn’t make Tebow a good QB. Both things can be true, the Jets can be a terribly run organization AND Tebow can have a completion percentage below 50... in fact both things ARE true.
In 1983, Elway started 10 games as a rookie. He was awful.Elway finished 4-6 as a starter that year. He threw seven touchdowns, 14 interceptions and completed just 47.5 percent of his passes. Elway also had one game-winning drive during that span, something he'd become known for during his career.
When you compare the two player's stats, there really is no comparison.
In 10 starts, Tebow has 14 touchdown passes, six rushing touchdowns and four interceptions. And perhaps the most intriguing stat considering how much he's been scrutinized about his passing, Tebow has a higher completion percentage at 48 percent.
Tebow has also engineered five game-winning drives, which ties him with Scott Brunner and Marc Wilson for the most game-winning drives in the first 10 starts.
As the QB gurus say, "If all of a sudden, Oregon coach Chip Kelly comes into the NFL next season, Tim Tebow would flourish in Chip Kelly's system,'' said Shea, the former Rutgers coach and NFL quarterbacks coach who has mentored Robert Griffin III, Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford and Josh Freeman. "There's a future for Tim Tebow, if the right coach comes along."
Amazing how so many other QBs are given 3+ years to prove their ability to play and win in the NFL. Yet, for whatever reason, Tebow isn't even given one full season in a stable coaching environment.
Perhaps he will be wash. But he deserves a chance to succeed or fail.
I’m not kicking him out of the game. The question is is he RIGHT NOW a good QB and the answer is: no. I’ve said repeatedly if he learns to read defenses pre-snap, and makes his throws predictable so they can be accurate he can be good. But that’s the future and dependent on change in him. For now, he stinks.
So far he’s had 2 chances. One in Denver where his only good stat was W-L and if the defense hadn’t gotten it together even that would have stunk, and one in NY where he didn’t impress the coaches enough to get on the field regularly. And it looks like he’ll probably get a 3rd chance in Jax with their open tryouts. But if he’s the same level of player for those that he was in Denver I don’t see him getting starts.
It would be nice if he got it together. The future though is the future, we can only guess on that. The past and the present though are pretty easy, they’ve got stats and they do indeed tell the entire story. Behind after 3 a lot, a throwing arm that’s basically a random number generator, and 46.5% completions. And in the process he’s cost 5 draft picks. He’s really expensive for the results.
