I am tired of the flummery of the American Left and their RINO servants.

I’ve never understood what they mean by “Lake Effect Snow”. It seems that they use that term for anything and everything.

Here I sit, practically on the shores of Lake Michigan. We were threatened with a “significant” Lake Effect snowstorm. Yet, we got about 3-4 inches, and inland in Madison they got 20 inches. Will any forecaster take to the air and say that they were wrong? Never. They are as bad as the political prognosticators.

We are also on the top of a hill, and we generally get MORE snow than lower lying areas. And it lasts longer too. Sorry about your hip. It’s my knees that are bothering me, and I’m terrified of replacement surgery — if they’d even have me as a patient.

xshub and xsboy joined the NRA last night. They are excited about the free range bag. Something about free stuff. xsteen met her best friend at our fave place, the Buzz Bakery

to exchange christmas gifts on Weds PM. They stayed til the place closed at 9pm, and as the employees came to tell them they were closing they gave them each a dozen cupcakes [which normally cost $3+ each!] Even though this house is awash in cakes, pies and cookies, you'd think someone gave her a thousand dollars, she was so thrilled. She grudgingly took them in for her ofc christmas party today. i said we are NOT going to eat them, we have too much stuff here, so don't waste them. she grudgingly agreed!

It’s when the warmer lake water is absorbed by passing cold fronts and then deposited on the land. You have to be downwind from the lake. The highest amount of snow is not necessarily right on the shore. It takes some time/distance for the effect to take place.

I read on the internet, where no one ever makes anything up, is that the game was supposed to be over at 11:11 a.m. Central.

We are still here, so I guess someone mis-counted that Mayan long calendar somehow...

Went to the general store for a few things, ran into a neighbor, stopped on the way home to look at her living room-she wants carpet torn out and ceramic tile in there-and now I’m back. I’m not wanting to do that tear-out without a hazmat suit-the carpet has been there for at least 23 years, and probably has a good supply of every allergen known to humankind in and under it...

What a lot of flummeries
Are being spouted today-
All only smoke and mirrors
No matter what they all say

Guns run amok killing people-
Violent videos sound an alarm-
Can handcuffs jump onto people
Contemplating doing some harm?

And if you think it sounds silly
Just listen to what’s being said-
People blaming inanimate objects
When they own the blame instead

That’s what Shemp said yesterday. Santa Obama gave Feds Monday off, I knew he’d do that. Why the hell not, if you’re going off the cliff might as well floor it.

I don’t entirely disagree.

It’s not like anyone is going to get any work done Monday anyways

You suppose that’s different than any other day. ; ) it is an expenditure. People who would be taking leave now don’t have to.

Politicians can not act, they can only react.

By not restoring the bush era cuts, they will have something to which there can be reaction.

The reaction will necessarily include reaction to the debt ceiling. no increase, Obama has problems, real problems until there are cuts.
