Police in riot gear flooded the field of a youth football game in Southern California to stop a brawl that involved dozens and possibly hundreds of adult spectators.
Chino police told the San Bernardino Sun they received several calls saying a melee had broken out amid a crowd of hundreds of parents who were watching a Pop Warner playoff game at the citys Ayala Park on Saturday.
Sgt. Frank Mena said ..... one of the teams was from Alhambra, but did not know the hometown of the other.
Chino is in San Bernardino County 35 meals east of Los Angeles.

AP reports that Chino is 35meals east of Los Angeles.
Whoa! Were those human or horse meals?! Sounds like a long ways to me ;-)
Would have to pack several lunches for that trek.
EBT meals or ones they actually had to pay for?
LoL. How long must have that melee have been going on that cops could have responded and intervened in their riot gear?? Or do the cops in that area typically stage nearby in their riot gear for a Pop Warner game!?!?
Nonetheless, as long as it was going on: “No one was seriously injured and no one was arrested.”
That must have been some epic battle.
Was it a melee (fisticuffs) or a mealee (food fight)???
“AP reports that Chino is 35meals “
Is that meals traveling by car or stagecoach? Big difference.
My hometown making the news once again. What a 3rd world nation it has become.

It was old Mexican families and Dutch farmers when I was young. Everyone got along fine. As the 80s went on, more illegal Mexicans moved in with their US families. Black families were being pushed out of Los Angeles by Hispanic gangs to the area. That created a lot of problems, especially between Hispanic gangs in Chino and Black gangs in Pomona. Chino High School had a race riot in 1992 during a Homecoming rally.
