“I’m left wondering what the heck it was that killed him. I can’t imagine food poisoning or salmonella kicking in so quickly.”
The answer is cholesterol poisoning. It takes time for the body to process cholesterol into the chemicals that it needs, steroids and hormones. Eggs contain a high amount of cholesterol. I remember calculating back in microbiology, when we learned about this, that if a person ate somewhere around 25-30 eggs within the span of an hour, they would overwhelm the ability of the body to process the cholesterol, and would die from the toxicity.
