These types of products only ever come down in price when the upscale, or the hard core enthusiast, buy them.
And Free Republic is not usually a place where a lot of bashing of the wealthy goes on. Not that you’re doing that, just sayin’.

Well, I, like most people, like to talk about practicality, and not about wishing to have something just because it exists and might be cool to have.
The way I see it, "nobody" in his right mind, who is not well-off or rich, would want to spend the kind of money that it would take to get one of those very high-def and very high-end TVs.
Also, for a product to come down in price, there would either have to be a good number of people buying the product, or the manufacturer would have to absorb a lot of losses in the initial stages of the introduction of the product, sort of like what MS did with XBOX and WP8. But, not too many companies out there right now, can afford to take too much in losses; not with the current state of the economy.
