Tell me, If Shanahan has pulled RGIII immediately after the 1st quarter, and the Skins went on to lose, what would Skins fans have said????
It shouldn't matter to Shanahan what the Skins fans would say. Looking out for his QB's ability to walk should take precedence. There's a reason the fans are in the seats and he's on the field. He knows more than they do and should have protected him from being potentially crippled regardless of the blowback.

RGIII is not a child. Shanahan wants to win and he needs his starting QB to give him best chance.
I assume RGIII told him he could play. After all, the player knows how badly his knee hurts.
So Shanahan has him play.
What’s the problem?
