. Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden are too comfortable in their television jobs, and, despite the nice spin Banner and Haslam put on the appeal of the franchise, a generation of losing does not make this franchise a free-agent magnet.
Why not Lovie Smith, unjustly fired after a 10-6 season in Chicago? Cutler missed one game behind a porous line. Not only is Smith a former head coach in a cold-weather city, but he has a Super Bowl appearance (with Rex Grossman as his quarterback) on his resume. Ken Whisenhunt went to a Super Bowl in Arizona too, but he had one of all-time greats, albeit at the end of his career, in Kurt Warner.
Smith is more appealing than the Millennium Mallard and his magic X's and O's, anyway. Or he should be.

Maybe he can vow to beat the Bengals...and fail.
Think about this:
A white NFL coach says, “I have the Mitt Romney’s back, and its up to us as whites to show that we have his back also.”
What would have happened to his career?
Sure it makes sense. From one hell-hole (Chicago) on a lake to a different hell-hole (Cleveland) on a different lake.
Yeah, I live in Cleveland and have to suffer watching the Ravens (the former Browns entire franchise) go to playoffs and win Super Bowls . . .
What the NFL gave us to shut us up was a losing franchise with crappy quarterbacks and even worse coaches. And all we had to do was lose our team and pony up a new undomed stadium that is only used for 10 games. Cleveland got suckered by the NFL bigtime.
May the NFL go to big-time hell!
He’s a “natural” for Cleveland, as incompetent blacks run the City, inner-city tribal parasites infest it, crime is King, etc. PLUS, 21 precincts voted 100% for the Mulatto Messiah in 2012 ! (of course, The Pope himself could be the coach of the Browns, and still have a minor league team. We haven’t had Pro Football in Cleveland since Art Modell was forced out of town, to satisfy local money interests in Cleveland).
I don't live IN Chicago, but I commute to that crap-hole every day to go to work. I've been through Cleveland more times than I can recount while on my way to visit family in Buffalo (in-laws.)
It seems Chicago and Cleveland may have more than just a failed NFL football coach in common: both are run by inept, incompetent politicians, either dominated by or pandering to "african-americans" turning the cities into unlivable cesspools.
The Browns lost the majority of games this year by 3 lousy points.
