I don’t like it either, sadly I don’t have the answer. I do however value human life over animals and some here purport not to and that is biblically wrong. I say this as an owner of two family angels, but all the talk of shooting an LEO that shot your pet is big talk and tires me. False bravado that will be wasted as they stick the needle in your arm, if you made it that far.

I can say this, all the LEO’s I know are good, conservative guys and they, as I did, are getting tired of being demonized at every turn for the actions of others and are contemplating quitting, as did I. What then, we only have the bad ones. Better beware what bed you make by casting a wide net.

It is the responsibility of the peace officers to expose and refuse to cover up for their brothers in blue.

What would happen if police officers across the country would contact police stations and express their disapproval that an “internal investigation” was used to cover up the actions of corrupt officers?

If there are so many good peace officers, there is no reason for them not to rise up and deal with the problem, now, BEFORE the non-government employees deal with the problem.

Else, what differentiates them from Muslims who say they do not support terrorists, but who knowingly do not report on terrorists within their mosques?

I can’t think of a *single* time on the pro-police website, PoliceOne, that LEOs en masse condemned this practice.

Lots of “we must not have all the information” and “if the department found it acceptable, it must be so” excuses.

Condemnation of sadism? Not so much.

I’d love to see that trend change, but if the peace officers are too terrified to expose the corrupt LEOs, that’s an indicator that the corrupt LEOs are greater and stronger than the peace officers.

“Better beware what bed you make by casting a wide net.”

Mixed metaphor. I would rather say to the cops that think the Blue Line is appropriate: Choose sides carefully, if the people start shooting back, you’re not going to make it.

I really don’t give a rat’s ass what the Bible has to say on this matter.

What I do know, and is well proven in the last 50 years, is that people who mistreat animals will mistreat humans. The pathology of serial killers has shown a pattern where the killers start by torturing or killing animals for kicks.

And that’s what’s going on with many of these cop-shoot-dog scenarios. They’re shooting the animal because they can get away with it. Period.

If they were “scared” for their “lives,” they were under no requirement to enter that yard. None. If they see the dog, they can call dispatch and say “Well, there’s dog in the yard. It’s highly doubtful that there’s an intruder in the building.” Duh, would that be all that difficult? No.

If cops want to stop being demonized, they can show some evidence of having functional brains instead of being brain-washed thugs.

Taxpayers are paying these people. Paying means I don’t need to say “Please.” If cops don’t like the job as it is, they can find another job and we can find someone who meets the terms set by the taxpayer for holding the job.
