Where is the picture of the bowl of tomato sauce? That is necessary if we are going to talk about squids.
was in a NY Clam bar once on Long Island...the tables were set up along a roped off runway, the runway was for people waiting to get a table. I was eating calamari linguine fra diavolo. the squid was fried, cut in big loops and was on top of the pasta. a very whitebread patrician fellow on line looked into my bowl and inquired “ is that some type of tubular past” to whit I answered...” Naw...its squid” “Oh!” as he turned green and looked like he was going to have to choke back a gag reflex. to each his own....pass the hot sauce.
I know a Korean restaurant that makes a great squid bok-eum. Maybe I should go there for dinner tonight.
