and last evening I read an article on Slate that said at the current world birthrate, which is “actually delining” that in the next hundred years the world propulation would shrink from current 7 billion people to 1 billion people. A major reason, according to the author, is that the more educated women are, the fewer babies they have. Thus the world is facing a ‘depopulation crsis.’

Sounds like Slate has found the best solution to carbon crisis and global, depopulation means less people using carbon.

First, the biggest determinant of nutritional value is the quality of the soil, not temperature. Temperature is more related to yield.

Second, if we concede that we're in a warming cycle, I'm sure the northern states and Canada would be happy to add growth capacity to the market. We may get bigger as a result since the land is full of undepleted minerals.

Quite simply the story is that homo sapiens is the most adaptable mammalian species ever to live on the face of the planet. We’ve found ways of surviving the most inhospitable environments from the bottom of the ocean to outer space.
