Yep, our parents during the summer basically kicked us out of the house and made us play, only to come back for lunch, and then go out again and return for dinner.
Nowadays, people think it’s nuts to let their kids out all by themselves, and that’s even with them having cell phones that they can use.....we didn’t even have those back then.
We either used pay phones, or a friends house phone.
Kids today certainly aren’t the same kids we used to be. We were more independent......by force, lol.
These kids I see now are TOTALLY dependent on their parents or their little electronics for entertainment. NO interaction with other little ones, except through “play dates”, which is still one on one interaction. Boy w/ boy and girl w/ girl.
Whatever happened to the “group”?
