LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police said they had to restrain a distraught 300-pound man early Sunday morning after he jumped out of a moving car going 50 mph on the 110 Freeway.
The transition road for the 110 Freeway and the northbound 101 in downtown Los Angeles also had to be shut down around 2:30 a.m. while police investigated the incident and the man battled paramedics.
Witnesses said the unidentified man had to be tied down to a gurney before he could be loaded into an ambulance.
The man jumped out of the moving vehicle about 15 minutes before officials closed the road, CHP Officer Anthony Martin said.
RMG News photographer Sam Dubin, who was en route to a story, told City News Service he had to swerve to avoid a car that had already swerved to avoid hitting the 300-pound man.
Dubin said he spoke to the man’s wife. She told him that she had just told her husband she was pregnant — but leaving him — prompting him to jump from the vehicle.
The photographer also said when the first CHP officers came to render aid, the man became angry and belligerent. Rubin said the man was so large they had to use at least two pairs of handcuffs to restrain him.
Even after being placed in handcuffs, the man reportedly remained combative.
Fatty gonna have some skid marks from the pavement!

He could be an advanced bodybuilder. Some of those guys can weigh 300 lbs, without being that tall.

At 50mph, he must have left 15-20lbs of skin all over the road. Colorful accident site. Yuk.
50mph is probably an exaggeration.
Road rash is NOT a recommended weight loss program....
...but, it does work....
