I had this conversation with daughter of Doomonyou (18 years old) today and was somewhat disturbed that she had this question posed to her a few years ago and answered "yes." It was a written list of questions you typically fill out on your first visit to a new provider and she answered something like, " yes, we have guns in the house and I know how to shoot them and they are for protecting our house." The Nurse replied something like, "Wow, we don't get many answers like that! My Husband is a hunter and we have guns in the house too." Wife of Doomonyou has been asked and answered NO, I've haven't been asked yet. All of us have been asked, "Do you feel safe at Home?"

Anyway, If you have a CCW, bought a hunting license, bought a gun in the last ten years or so, your on a "list".

The government could see a person owns a gun, cross reference that at the IRS with a “no” answer to the doctor, and call that “insane” to take the gun away.

Actually, not everyone. If you bought privately (not from a federally licensed dealer), you might not be on any list (unless the seller had you checked out). That’s the so-called “gun show loophole”, which means millions of gun owners are not on any list. It is those people they’re trying to find.

I was thinking the same. And if they do any cross-reference between the answers given to docs, and the list of registered gun owners, well, then what will they do regarding any discrepancies?
