Former President George W. Bush does not plan to attend President Obama’s second inauguration on Monday, joining his father, former President George H.W. Bush, among the living former presidents who are sending regrets, according to several officials with knowledge of inaugural planning.
The decisions mean Obama’s second oath of office will occur with only Democratic former presidents sharing the stage. Both former President Bill Clinton and former President Jimmy Carter plan on attending.
The younger President Bush is citing his father’s health in declining the invitation to attend, according to the officials. The older Bush, who is 88, was just released from the hospital this week after an extended illness. “President and Mrs. Bush wish President Obama and his family all the best for a wonderful inaugural weekend,” said a spokesman from the younger President Bush’s office Friday.

Actually, it would. Other than the obvious human tragedy issue, it would make an even larger portion of dumb America think Obama was a hero and patriot. Look at how the lying, cheating, POS JFK is remembered.
We weren’t thinking of violence. But it would be kind of interesting if Obama had a nervous breakdown in the middle of the festivities, or Michelle finally cut loose and decked him, or something else dreadful and dramatic that they couldn’t explain away.

I actually believe you cannot tear him away from his father and his family right now. I would like to believe that he would never come after the crowd sand “ Nah nah nah, Hey Hey Hey Good Bye”, as a nice swipe at obama such people who support him. However, I know he would actually come if he really could, because he believes its the right thing to do.

When Michelle sent me the invitation to the inauguration I regretfully had to turn it down. I was planning on spending the day at the Martin Luther King museum in New York. Now I come to find it is closed for MLK day! ;)
