In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress. - John Adams

Too make matters worse, a huge number of congressmen retire or lose their office only to become lobbyists or advisors.

For instance after Bart Stupak had the mighty struggle with his conscience over Obamacare he landed himself in a lucrative position with Venable LLP as a full partner specializing in health care.

True enough. My congressmen is a "career politician" with some 25 years in state and federal politics but it doesn't appear to made him wealthy.

Walberg was born and educated in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Alice Ann and John A. Walberg. His paternal grandparents were Swedish. He left a post-high school position with the U.S. Forest Service to pursue higher education. At one point working in a steel mill to help pay tuition, he studied forestry at Western Illinois University and attended Moody Bible Institute, but did not complete a degree until 1975, when he earned a B.A. in religious education from Fort Wayne Bible College. By then Walberg was half-way through a four-year stint as a pastor at Grace Fellowship Church in New Haven, Indiana, which concluded when he enrolled in the Wheaton College graduate school. After receiving an M.A. in communications in 1978, Walberg and his young family relocated to Tipton, Michigan, where he led services at Union Gospel Church and became involved in local anti-abortion movements. He resigned his pastorship in 1982 in preparation for a successful bid for the Michigan House of Representatives.

Lawyers are trained to argue. As for farmers, John Tester, D-MT, makes a big deal out of helping out on the family farm and he thinks money grows on trees.
