“Wings are currently the highest priced portion of a chicken and cost $2.11 a pound in the Northeast, up 12 percent from last year.”

$2.11 a pound is the highest priced pieces and parts of a chicken? Really? How much is breast meat per pound now?

In my area, boneless breast is priced from $1.59-1.99/lb, bone in is $.99-1.29/lb. We’re eating a lot of chicken. Too bad I prefer beef.

Split chicken breast at Winn-Dixie (supermarket) can range from $1.29 to $1.79 this week (depending on rewards card).

This week here:

whole chicken - .67
boneless skinless breast - $1.97
seasoned boneless skinless breast - $2.97

Also, several buy whatever chicken part or pre-cooked and get x,y,z free. But no mention of wings in weekly ads.
