In 1964 I spent part of the summer in Flagstaff with some other college students doing field research on best methodology to use in collecting Luna geological data and samples of moon rock. We stayed in NAU’s dorms and went all over northern AZ and into southern Utah. Very long days and weeks for us in the summer heat. That was early in the Apollo program so we never got to interact with the astronauts who came on scene a couple of years later.
